Wow but any gameplay footage of the near finished product ?

Nope....everyone is eagerly waiting for it :(.

People have high hopes from them as those who played their previous title (rugby league live 2) swear by its authenticity with respect to the gameplay. Can just wait and watch now....but exciting times ahead :D

We can create those. All it needs is a robust creator mode and that will be settled. It is not like WWE game that we need authentic entrances and commentators calling move names to make the game feel more realistic.

I will just download the players from community creations :P

OMG seriously, just cant wait for this game. Seems all kind of epic. I hope they resolve legal issues soon and release it ASAP.

Angy is there a public beta or are you working on the game, i may have missed a few posts so please reply on it

Lol no....am not working on the game. I just post the info posted on planet cricket forums. This is a public beta. You can download it from the link posted in one of my posts above. This is only a beta for the player creator.

Some more info from planetcricket forums (dont know if I mentioned them before):

a) Manual appeal system is in the game. Appeal too much and you will upset the umpires....so goodbye to those close LBW shouts

B) If you do upset the umpires and get those bad decision, do not be afradi......DRS is in the game.

c) There is a dynamic weather system. Weather 'can' go from being sunny to rainy during the day's play

d) duckworth lewis system is in the game

e) As mentioned before, fielding is totally manual. The developer/publisher of this game (Ross) had mentioned that there would not be any mini-game in the gameplay. So when a member asked him "Wonder how you do throwing without it being a mini-game", here is what Ross replied:

"If you think about accounting for the accuracy you might need (direct to stumps vs keeper vs relay fielder) and how much time you take to consider the throw (quick throws are not as accurate), the attributes of the player throwing, how the player is facing, standing compared to the target of the throw and so on - there are enough variables for it not to be a mere mini-game."

Well, let your imagination go wild :P!!

Btw, tried a few more players in the cricket academy beta:

It keeps getting better and better!!!! Here is a post from the other forums where this guy tried to explore the files from the cricket academy and seemed to have hit the jackpot with respect to the 'expected' features in the game!! Now do take it with a pinch of salt, as a lot of times there are features which are in the files but do not make it to the real game due to either testing issues, licenses etc. But still, its a nice read :D!!

I found a file which contains gameplay list, teams and stadiums. I have listed below the info as much as I can gather. Thanks to Pat and BlitzBerg too for some of the contributions. NOT COMPLETE LIST AND MAY NOT BE FULLY ACCURATE.

Gameplay Details
  • Both batsman and fielder can be retired hurt during match. You can select backup fielder as well.
  • You can sprint, run, jog, or walk while batting.
  • Rain plays a big role in this game. I have seen a lot of details been given to this.
  • There is deep stats tracking system built-in even for online matches like you can see leaderboards for who has taken most wickets in Tests online.
  • I also saw these two attributes boundaryDistance and scorerPosition. I guess it could mean we could get six hitting distance?
  • There is a Batting Camera and a bowling camera.
  • Your stamina will drain as you run/jog while batting. It will be recovered as you gain your fitness.
  • D/L method will be implemented on the basis Temperate, amount of rainfall, wetness, cloudiness, Air mass density. Match can be resumed with revised target or it may get suspended.
  • While in Career Mode, You will get contract offers from various club. You may also get bonus amount at the end of season based on these factors - total runs, total wickets, number of wickets, Top wicket taker on number of occasions, Top scorer on number of occasions. You can also get season scorecard of most wickets, 5 wickets, maiden, wicket, most runs, hundred, fifty.
  • There will be Dynamic Weather that may go from Fine to overcast to rain to again overcast and then fine. There will be fog with different intensities too like near or far.

Accept Contract Offer - This set me thinking. Do we have control of a single player in career mode? I thought it was going to be all about building a team, hiring / firing staff and players, playing and winning etc. However, if the career mode is only for a team, what could this attribute possibly mean?

Again, no need of licensed Indian teams. You can easily rename them and tons of mods will release for kits etc.

With all those features, game is looking solid. Ashes devs must be sh*ting bricks now.
