Some more stuff for you guys

Here is an awesome pic (posted by another user) that shows the size differences between various players (its the user-created South African squad, if you hadnt noticed :P):

Also, it seems that BigAnt has got the physic engine to manipulate the animations based on the player sizes. So hopefully we wont see Harbhajan Singh slapping Tendulkar (a privilege only available to Sreesanth) in the game when instead he just wanted to give him a high five :P!

Finally, some more info from the guy who is trying to decode the data file that came along with the cricket academy beta (do take it with a pinch of salt, as all this is has been programmed in the data file, but may or may not make it to the final game):

- There are these types of Competitions -
League
Knockout
Series
You can probably create your own online and offline competitions too. Not fully sure about online but it's high possibility. But as Ross said before there will be online knockout competitions.

- Difficulty Levels
Easiest
Easy
Medium
Hard
Hardest

- You can sprint and run at max speed or min speed based on stamina during batting. Both sprint and running will drain your stamina. It will be recovered as you gain fitness and when you are idle.
- You can probably switch the strikers when running during batting. Non Striker/Striker can take these decisions while running - No Decision, wait, slide to safety, desired runs, sprint, dive. (I don't know what the last line really means so you are free to decode this)
- There will be different body type for cheerleaders tongue.gif

PS: I am 70% sure now after reading some variables that all the home grounds listed in Team Editor will be in game.

Great to see a developer in here. I'm also a member of Pc forums but not that frequent . Hoping for a smashing game ! Will there be a demo before the final release ? Are you getting members to test the game for suggestions ?

The games complete in terms of functionality, sadly there will not be a demo version. I am sure there will be plenty of video on the internet to enable people to see what the game is like, and of course reviews on here and Planet Cricket.

There is also the Cricket Academy that we are still allowing changes too as the files produced can still be read by the Console versions of the game. Anyone that has requests that make sense for that may see them included, we have made many changes due to requests from fans on forums.

@bigantstudios all the info released until now is great, but even a lack of a trailer or some sort of gameplay mechanic to impress us further or a date of release is a bummer

you really need to step up there

can you tell us if this game atleast can make it in 2013 or 2014?

@ Bigant, afaik you guys are self publishing, how are you planning to distribute in India?

And have you decided on pricing?

We are dealing with distributors, pricing will follow.

The game will be this year, I can't say much more than that for now.

I think 1999 should be a good pricing. Ashes09 was sold for the same price.

An LE/CE would be awesome. Never had LE for a cricket game.

I had IC2010 but I didn't play it online, ashes I did but its netcode wasnt great. Hope its all ironed out.

ohh Multiplayer should be awesome,

1. show a browser for matches in progress,

for many of the older games i could never find people even if there were others online in matches,

we could queue up and have some sort of counter to show no. of people online

quitters need to be penalised badly, so many times people just leave coz they lose

2. the ball marker should be removed for MP for batsman not for bowler

Ya quitting is a problem in cricket, many players quit after batting or start bowling carelessly to get done with match asap.

I mean this got to be realized that not too many players enjoy bowling, so simply allow players to make bowling automatic or semi-automatic with player deciding the field settings and bowling order.

On quitting, quitter should get penalty of 30mins of no online play. Opponent should not be informed about the quit and game should carry on with bots.

I hope you guys make the hardest difficulty really hard to master...It should be almost impossible to master it..

Coz usually ill master the game in a month or 2 and game will feel very easy...

Regarding pricing anything below 1000 for PC will be good...

P.S Can any mod or admin give a custom title to Ross , also change the color of his name..

Yes, this would be really nice :) Ross is the CEO of Big Ant Studios.

All of us here in India need to rise to the occasion and ensure as many legit sales as possible for both of Big Ant's Cricket games (2nd one being Move Table Top Cricket). This is not just any other Cricket game, this game has been made by real Cricketers and Cricket lovers for Cricket lovers, plus Ross is a very good person :) On pricing, this is going to be a premium product and I don't think premium things come for cheap.

Here is some more information on the game from Planet cricket -

Also, here is a video of Big Ant Studios recently released Rugby game to give you an idea of the quality.

We will be able to save online games which are in progress so I am sure there will be a good system in place to deal with quitters/disconnects.
