UC3 stopped working

The UC3 was working fine - I have played 11 chapters.

And now it just waits infinitely after autoplay.

The ring animation keeps showing and nothing happens, not even any disk activity is heard from the PS3.

Rest of my games work fine - no issues.

Why just this game?

 

This is happening since the past 2 days.

 

The only change I did on the PS3 is that I changes the IP settings and set the Primary DNS as "8.8.8.8".

Why should it affect the UC3?

 

btw, the disk is absolutely scratchless, no damages - inspected it thoroughly.

 

Any suggestions?

This issue was faced by many people initially...post in uc3 mp thread...somebody will help.

 

Did you try cleaning the disc?

 

Did you try playing it after disconnecting it from the network? (wired/wireless)

 

Have you updated the game with all patches?

updated the game with all patches coz i wanted to go multiplayer;

cleaned the disc.

Tried playing after network disconnection.

Also tried with a cold reboot.

 

Will check out in the UC3 multiplayer thread; but this will be the primary thread.

 

Let me know if there are any suggestions.

Try unistalling the the game update and try again.

 

One of the reason behind this is that you might have turned your PS3 off without quitting the game. Power went off or someshit? Eject the disc , turn off your PS3 , turn back it on , put in the disc. You will see you are getting stuck but give it a min and then slightly push the PS button. Hope it works for you if it doesnt delete your game cache , saves and update.

will try to delete game - that sounds good - reinstall software and it will work

 

seems like a lot of ppl are facing this issue and there isnt a confirmed solution for many of them !!!!

There are several such freezing issues mentioned at this URL.

First take a backup of the savegames for UC3.

 

Now delete the game data for UC3 (when browsing under the games section in XMB). Now pop in the disc and reinstall the game. Try playing WITHOUT patching it first. If it works, then patch it.

 

Hopefully this will solve the issue.

piper....u were a bit late in giving this solution

i deleted the savedata.

was sort of angry...so forgot to backup the savedata

and my progress to chapter 11 has been lost...probably my trophies are intact.

never mind.

for now, the game is loading well, and need to start from the beginning again....acceptable for such a game

All this happened past 1130 pm.

 

Seems the savedata had got corrupted somehow

I use UPS; I dont quit the game midway; I hit PS on the controller once, then from the game menu, I click Quit game.

I guess I wasnt doing it right.

Now on, I will pause the game, let it save, and then quit the game.

Now don't turn off your PS3 directly from in-game. Unless there is any power outage.

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about this, beats by dre like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with some pics to drive the message home a little bit, but other than that, this is great blog. A great read. I will certainly be back.
