Both are Multi Platform PC, XBox and PS3. Found one Headset which is available in India: Sennheiser U320 (PC, XBox and PS3) Didn't find any review about this headset on Internet. So let me summarize the best combos assuming max budget of 20k. -AD700/sennheiser hd558+mixamp. You can't get mixamp alone now. Get it used and have to source from US. -AD700+DSS/DSS2. Again dss is discontinued. You can get dss2 shipped to India from amazon. However dss2 is kind of degrade from dss. Still it's worth. -jvcrx900+DSS/DSS2. This jvcs are poor mans ad700.both can be shipped from amazon. Now if you have bad ears /untrained ears you just need one 3.5mm female to RCA female adaptor and any 3.5 mm headphones.this gives you only stereo though. For chat get any Bluetooth headset. After all you will use this as only input device. USB headsets needs a different and rarely found adapter. So you have lots of disposable money get astro a50 though it can't be VFM. Official ps3 headsets are wireless stereo headset and pulse headset. I feel there should be separate post regarding ps3 headphones/headset as I find this question frequently asked. -PS:I got dss2 and jvcrx900 from amazon delivered directly to bangalore. I did search DSS but its not available, DSS2 is available at amazon for $77. And also i couldn't find Astro mixamp wireless or wired. Is DSS2 good buy. One my friends cousin is coming from US but next year in Feb. So i was thinking of buying Sennheiser U320 for the 3 months and then hook up the Headset with DSS2. Will it provide better performance. But you need 3.5 mm female to RCA female adapter. If you in bangalore lemme know I have spare adapters.but the volume would be very less. Better get fiio e6 for amplification. Keeping soundstage in consideration open are obviously better than closed. Regarding senn 320 I read in amazon. They seems to be ok but not VFM for sure. Yes I do know about Astro, Turtle Beach etc, but the thing is they are not available in India. One of my friend had bought Astro headset from amazon and it is unusable b'coz of some issue with mixamp. And i really don't take any risk. I am thinking of buying Surround Sound Headset with Optical Input. Chat functionality is not required. I have been playing most of the games with no sound, it is really frustrating. I have never used any Surround Sound or even Stereo Headset, so i don't know about them much. I have search this on the net and found this headset with Optical Input. But i don't know if it will work. Sennheiser RS220 (It has a optical Input and i don't know if it is surround sound headset) Have anyone used this kind of setup with this or any other headset. Don't feel if it is safe buying a Second_Hand DSS b'coz you can't check the product only the image posted by the seller. I always prefer to buy New not Second-Hand. Ok One last question: Difference Between DSS & DSS2, is it a major difference in performance or just a slight performance difference. If it is a major difference, I would buy Second-Hand DSS and if it is normal difference then i would buy DSS2. TheSalvator, let me know the price. And there is no photo of your Slip. Sa1nT_SoLd1eR Posted November 7, 2012 Report Share Posted November 7, 2012 Second Hand DSS are all you are going to find, as they have been discontinued, I would suggest going by the feedback of these sellers, especially if there is a negative one, plus like you said that you have someone coming from US, then that would be the cheapest option for you + he can fully inspect the item and see to it that it is in proper working condition. About the Difference, I would say that difference is a very subjective term, for someone the difference can only be marginal while for another person it could be too much, so I wouldn't be able to comment on that and say that this is 100% correct, However, in my personal opinion, i found the difference to be quite a lot, as I used to play Uncharted 3 MP with them, and while in some aread DSS2 excelled DSS, but in some areas DSS was far better. here is an overview of my comparison :- Firstly, I found that the directional cues were far more specific with DSS2, whereas the amount of sounds picked up by DSS were far more than DSS2, so it really just depends on what you are looking for. Secondly, I also found DSS far more enjoyable while listening to music, and the AMP really gave my AD700 a run for their money. I had to listen to music at almost 35% of its power, that is how powerful the AMP for DSS is IMO. In short:- For the price of around 40 - 45$, even a second hand DSS is a must buy for anyone looking for a decent sound performance, however I can't say the same for DSS2 I once again reiterate that difference is a subjective term and it depends from person to person .... Same happened with me though.so if you never even heard decent headphones you will be amazed with any of the recommendations made in this thread. How do you source from US? With Regards, Rocky DPX21 have an inline AMP, and if you couple it with DSS AMP you will hear a loud buzzing sound, caused due to Double Amping, soI wouldn't recommend buying this !!!! Sainty how are hd558?
