MightySkate
^^You can't rip bluray on your ps3. It doesn't even let you copy it But if you have any bluray movie encoded in avc format, using a media streaming software like Tversity you can copy it from your pc to your ps3

Amay
I got a couple of Q's 1)Is there a component cable provided with the PS3? If not then how much does it cost and is it avalable in the Indian market? 2)Blu Ray discs are region free FOR THE TIME BEING right? Now if they decide to region lock games then we're kind of screwed are'nt we? We belong to region 2 which is majority of Russia and all South East Asian countries, wonder which region games will be available in the market here then// Thanks
vinitwins
^ BR game discs are region free and EVEN IF sony reverts back to region locking, then we'll be clubbed into the PAL territory along with EU & AUS (your're mixing it up with BR video regions A/B/C). BR video is region locked and we're clubbed in the C bracket - one of the compelling reasons why NOT to buy an indian PS3 (you'd be at sony india's mercy or would have to import region free movies from abroad) V
MightySkate
1. Right out of the box, you're given composite AV cables. As for component cables, i haven't seen any so far in the mkt. 2. PS3 games as of now are region free, and i can't see in the nearest future Sony deciding to region lock their games. I may be wrong, but i think MS is also trying to go the region free way. Amay
Aha, thanks for clearing that up Vinit, but is it sensible to import the 40 GB from paly-asia then?
CarbonCore
PS3 uses same A/V output connector as PS2 so you can use any PS2 component cable with it and they are easily available in grey market. You can also buy any cheap HDMI cable and since HDMI passes digital signals, the quality of cable itself doesn't matter.
Amay
Sweet, thanks CC, btw hows the orange box? getting my XCM VGA box soon, will be getting my ps3 in the next month or so and will hook it up to my 19" acer for 720p.
CarbonCore
Sweet, thanks CC, btw hows the orange box? Dude, why do you even ask such questions ? Drop anything else you had planed for buying (even a PS3) and get this title. You won't get a better deal than this on consoles, period
