ok. thanks for the heads up.

anyway, one last thing.

some of the hdd's have SATA mentioned. some of them dont. all of them are 2.5" hdds. will it make a difference for the ps3 ?

yes it makes a big difference. only SATA 2.5 inch hard disk work in ps3. so make sure its SATA and not IDE. however you can opt for any rpm and any brand of manufacturers. higher the rpm more, the more heat produced but there is a slight better performance in speed times.

hello there everyone pls help me out

my ps3 makes a sound like a fax machine when i insert a disc into it

the sound is pretty annoying why wud this be happening furthermore ihav bought an full hd lcd tv but the prob is that when i am playin any game say gt5 prologue then the track lines for finish line and even car detail seem to hav a bordering line that is not straight but zig zag

when playing fifa 09 the white lines(d lines goal centre lines) that are present on the green grass dont look straight but zig zag.though it has improved significantly after my shift from normal to high def

is this a serious prob with my ps3 or just a settings issue

i hav samsung 32 inch full hd series 5 what wud be the best settings for ps3 on it

pls help

^^

Even I used to see the blocks at the edges of my cars in GT5p. But that was only during the pre-race run through or when i zoom during replays

I donno abt fifa 09

I think the disc noise is normal....besides the fact i have never heard a fax machine tongue.gif

Try adjusting the display settings of ur TV

Maybe be the sharpness is high or somethin like that (i might be wrong)

just in case u dint see it in ur other thread

i dont know much abt it.

Hey Guys...need some help with PS3...

well I have been moving around my ps3 alot and had connected it using normal composite cables and sometimes HDMI... earlier it used to work fine..

Recently I used the HDMI cable via a HDMI-DVI converter (which I got with a graphics card) to connect PS3 to my HDCP LG 22" monitor...and all worked fine until now when I am directly trying to connect the PS3 to my 40" Sony Bravia LCD HD Ready TV via HDMI slot. No display appears but when I keep the PS3 power button pressed while boot-up display appears through Composite cables.

Just to clear my doubt I connected the PS3 to my 22" monitor and the display appears (supports max 720p). I tried changing the HDMI cable but still facing the same issue....

any help please?

This is the HDMI ->DVI adaptor which I used.

I connected my composite cables and then when the display appeared I selected HDMI but no output.

poseidan buddy... try reseting the console once ur setup is ready :)

did the trick for me :P

Resetting meaning pressing the power button for 5 seconds during ps3 boot-up -> If thats the case then I did it and it displays through composite cables but then when I select HDMI no display appears on TV but if I do the same thing connecting my 22" Monitor the display appears just fine.

just wanted to update that when I keep the power button pressed on PS3 while boot-up and have composite and HDMI cables connected to my LCD TV, it shows a prompt on composite display that a HDMI device is available and if I want to use it. When I select it...no display appears...and after 30 secs it reverts back to composite display.

May be your HD out is fried. Return it if its under warranty. Or, atleast have them check it.
