shaiTaaNi billi
i've recently noticed that the date and time of my console has been reset to 22 nov 2005, this thing never happened with my Ps2 ever even if i didn't turn it on for many months, so what could be the problem with my Xbox and what could be done to rectify it? It does not have a CMOS but the time will get updated when you connect it to the net

It happened also to me lots of time. Especially it irritates when the games saves by the date entry and when you restarts you don't know which game save is the recent one. Please post, if you have any solution

MarketTantrik
The X360 maintains the current sate and time as long as the console is connected to the power mains. Even if the console itself is off, it will remember the date and time as long as you do not disconnect or switch off the power socket. If you do, then it resets its internal counter and will update itself only when its connected to the Xbox Live.

shaiTaaNi billi
but this thing never happened before, the date and time were working nicely before, maybe due to playing bioshock made everything retro. so guess there is no solution to this problem but to set the time and date manually everytime i switch it on. Some games take the date and time from the system and tie it to the game saves (saints row, bioshock etc). In these games, if ur date is reset, and u save again, ur new save will have 11/09/2005 as save date and the next time u load game, the game will ignore this save and pick the one with the latest date (incorrect one) ! Only soln is to connect to live everytime u play these games or edit the time manually in system tab on xbox dashboard b4 starting these games !
