Didn't know Indian food was so popular here in Auckland. There's a hotel here called "Ravis" which is booked everyday and one has to book a place a day before coming to get a seat here. I went to the hotel yesterday for takeaway and found the kiwis eating food here. The way they eat Indian food is hilarious! One blonde first finished her butter chicken with a spoon and then ate the naan without anything and that too using a fork

Okay, I don't really agree with that. I always have Biryani/Rice with spoon and I still think it tastes delicious. Besides, eating rice with hands is just ... weird .

Spoon is okay for the Biryani rice what abt the chicken ...to enjoy the chicken you have to either use your hand or its lot of effort with knife and fork. Same goes for naaan roti and all...with spoon and fork it just kills the taste IMO.

Bring out your animal instincts :D:)

BTW,

There is a philosophy behind this Indian practice of eating with the fingers. In India, eating is perceived as being a sensual activity. The idea is that one should be able to enjoy the process of eating with as many of the senses as possible – taste, smell, sight, and touch. Ask any Indian, and he will say that Indian food tastes best when eaten with the fingers.

There's a WikiHow on Indian eating technique and More !!.. :hi:

All this talk about non vegetarian food, makes me fee that I'm losing out on so much of the good stuff by being a veggie :P

Anyway, now that I'm staying alone....can someone recommend some quickie veg recipies for breakfast and lunch ? Should be done in max 30 mins....I eat egg....but recommend something other than omelet !

Also, I see that we have 2 chefs here....so your recipes better be good :bash:
