Firstly, you won't like the taste of any meat perse whatever you try (chicken/mutton/beef/fish/pork/prawns etc).

Secondly, you will definitely feel guilty about it for some days.

Thirdly, a veggie will in all probability never like the taste of *real* meat i.e. the muscles portion as it's totally bland in taste & umm.. smells bad. What you will instead love are the fatty portions and oil/butter based non veg dishes (which in actuality mask the real taste of meat).

I have been eating non veg for the past couple of years, but till now it's not my preferred choice of food. I mean there's probably nothing that you can't have in veg that's there in non veg. It's just that you don't get half decent veg stuff in hotels because most of us are non vegetarians. I still can't eat any proper meat (like Zinger burger or those big chicken pieces which are mainly muscles), hate Tunde ke kebabs (they're f**king bland) and in general don't like the spicy/oily non veg stuff.

I think the only non veg I actually have are the chicken chunks on pizza & sometimes nicely made non veg momos. And I wouldn't even eat those if I get good veg food (like mom makes ).

The ONLY (really the ONLY) thing I miss is the super duper hyper awesome mutton biryani my landlady used to make back in college. That was probably one of the best dishes I have ever ever eaten (the only mutton dish I actually like, otherwise I hate the smell & taste of mutton). She literally used to take nearly 4-5 hours of make the biryani ! And it used to be exactly how a biryani should be - not spicy to look at but the taste just explodes in your mouth. Hate those spicy biryani thingies. :ranting:

OMG I need one of those :panic: :panic:

Edit: Also hate fish/prawn/pork due to their awful awful smell & taste. :puke:

^^ Thats a nice summary, are you too a converted-to-non-veg by any chance :P ? If so, do tell me, did you face any health issues ? Some of my colleagues say that switching to non-veg could cause lot of health issues as the body isn't just adjusted to non-veg !

properly cleaned ones shouldn't have much smell. Sure they will during preparation but not after they're made. You can wash with vinegar and lime juice before making the dish and add a touch of lime to the dish while cooking to get rid of the taste. Works in my experience.

Yup. But no health issues at all, apart from making me more fat. :fear:

And the non-adjusted talk is BS. With nonveg, you're primarily increasing your proteins & fat intake. Your body can digest them easily, though your calories do increase.

Given a choice, I'll happily go back to my vegetarian diet than being a non vegetarian.

@Fatty : to each their own.

True that. :)

I guess people who ate non veg since early life have no problems with them but I've tried fish & prawns from roadside dhabas to expensive restaurants & find them yucky at best. :|

The other thing is I hate all things slimy, so the very mention of seafood immediately paints a gross picture in my brain. :|
