ps-boy16
Yup a lot of npc's have been buffed like lucatiel, benhart, pate, etc
KyoyaHibari
Yeah all NPC phantoms are buffed. As of using flame weapon on dark infused weapons, its not effective because by using flame weapon that spell adds 50 fire damage to the weapon and increases the "total fire damage" on the weapon by 30%. so if you use flame weapon on dark weapon, you will get 50 + (30%)*50 extra fire damage. when you use it on fire claymore+10 you will get 203+50 + (30%)253 damage. (A)Kira
Yeah but if someone had a gyrm greatshield, I'd be f**ked. I guess I wanted to hit across a wide range so if a player was very resistant to one element, the other would damage him. Also it confuses players when a weapon is glowing blue and then suddenly does fire damage. But if I see a player without gyrm or smelter armor, I'll be sure to take your advice. Aloy
How to get the most out of hexes?I'm at 22 INT/FTH but still my soul arrow does more damage than dark orb, even with sunset staff.
KyoyaHibari
Make sunset staff dark+10. Upgrade int and faith to 30. Exactly at 30 faith and int your dark bns will be 162 and the rate of growth decreases a lot after 30, so 30 is ideal. With 30 into/faith dark orb damage matches up to Cristal soul. For chime upgrade cathia chime to dark +10. Chime hexes like great resonant souls, scrapes of life does more damage staff hexes. The casting speed for them is also very fast. Also if you plan on using kings crown which gives +3 int and faith you can stop at 27 faith and int. Or if u want to use hexer hood, stop at 29 int and faith. aj21
ng+ is going quicker than i thought. enjoying the build.not as strong as i would have liked but fun to play with. the addition of dark phantoms here and there in ng+ is a good idea, the one in no man's wharf kicked my a*s. KyoyaHibari
The Fight club at Iron Keep Bridge is getting abused. Now everytime u drop red sign to get summoned its just gankers. Dueling RIP. if you want proper 1v1 duels use dragon eye signs. Surprisingly in Iron Keep there are a lot of dragon eye dueling going on. Since other covenants are quite bad compared to DS1 i guess everyone stick to this one. You could always try running to the Knights for help Like this guy- Ironically, the only good dueling now is at the Brotherhood of Blood. Clever gankers will clear the area already Yeah brotherhood duels are great, Im getting duels within seconds like a fighting game.

MarketTantrik
Reached the Lost Bastille yesterday and I have to say that I'm really enjoying this game. I've consciously refrained from looking up walkthroughs and the resultant self discovery of the game's areas and enemies have really upped the fun factor for me. It's definitely more accessible than DS1 and perhaps, a little less difficult, but the sum of the whole has made for an satisfying experience so far. Tyler
It is less difficult for sure but it does ramp up a bit from Lost Bastille onwards. Which way did you enter it from btw? There are two ways to get there and I highly recommend checking them out both. The place is filled with loot and hidden items. BTW, Zodka is in my Steam friends list and Steam doesn't show that he owns Dark Souls II

(A)Kira
You don't need to do the gargoyles now as they are optional. The max repercussions you'll face is that The Sinner will be a little harder. Edited May 11, 2014 by (A)Kira
SpearHea:D
dont you have the binding ring?the one you get before dragonslayer? No , he kicked my arse so i'll defeat him later . Whats the use of ring of binding ? You don't need to do the gargoyles now as they are optional. The max repercussions you'll face is that The Sinner will be a little harder. I already defeated sinner , that was fun fight and i had one effigy at that time so didnt face much problems . Now i am leveled up , i'll go and take down dragonslyer and get that ring . Edit :Got the ring and defeated dragonslayer . DIdnt notice that chest outside dragonslayer's fog gate because used to run away from those giant stone knightsand enter the gate quickly . Gargoyles bitches here i come Edited May 11, 2014 by SpearHea:D

Crimson-Ivy
Darklurker has to be most difficult boss in this game. Especially since I was playing as a melee character, it was close to impossible. Somehow managed it. The ancient dragon is also very very difficult. Shadoken
Gamespot Review retake - 5/10 http://www.gamespot.com/reviews/dark-souls-2-review-a-newcomer-in-drangleic/1900-6415748/ So apparently this is the review from a newcomer's perspective. I dont know by newcomer if he meant new to gaming to new to Dark Souls. To me it looks like this reviewer didnt even try to figure out the solution. Some basic exploration,NPC talking goes a long way. Are people really so used to handholding in games that when they die there HAS TO be a pop up message saying " You died because of x-reason , please use y-item/technique to not die again .. Kthnx" I'll agree with some of the flaws he mentioned , and might not be to everyone's tastes especially new comers. But saying you are utterly clueless on what to do is just stupid. There are plenty of elements in the game guiding the player. Just needs some basic exploration. Edited May 12, 2014 by Shadoken
