Params7
This game is looking to be so damn good. Cannot wait. I hope it also releases on PS4 since it will release long after PS4 releases this year.
i_rock098
I liked the Nexus system of Demons Souls better then the interconnected world system of Dark Souls, is there any possibility that is coming back?

Tyler
I liked the Nexus system of Demons Souls better then the interconnected world system of Dark Souls, is there any possibility that is coming back? I highly doubt that. The open world / interconnected level design of Dark Souls was one of it's most widely praised features. And I think Nexus is one thing that really makes Demon's Souls it's own game.

Thought so Don't know why but I cannot adjust to the open world of Dark Souls after spending so many hours playing Demons Souls, might just be me but still. ProblemSmoker
Guys i am very worried since the time i have read this god damn news about a MARCH 2014 release date !!! It Won't have a PS4/XB1 port.....and that window is when WITCHER 3/DESTINY/THIEF/DEEP DOWN/INFAMOUS:second son and thousand other RPG's/FPS title would launch on next gen consoles.... Its 6 months down a next gen cycle....!! What is NAMCO BANDAI thinking ??? Have they gone NUTS ??? From viral marketing they are going to SICK marketing !!! Its a very narrow lane between the two and NB are ending up on the wrong side...god dammit !!! Kya bakchodi hai yaar..had hai !! Tyler
Pretty sure Namco doesn't have anything do with it. From Software will not rush it to meet some arbitrary timelines. I don't think they really care about the competition. Most Japanese studios don't think like their western counterparts. Demon's Souls was an underdog when it came out and yet won numerous GOTY awards.
ProblemSmoker
^^^^^ Bhai but when demon souls released it probably was the time when GAMING industry was at its peak....everyone of us was contemplating what NEXT in x360/ps3.NOW,its the end of the console cycle.Junta is more so inclined to what's next in x1/ps4....and after GTA V/arkham origins NO AAA titles are scheduled to be released on current gen !! Its a lull between OCTOBER & MARCH for current gen. & when i am talking all this i strictly mean (ELDER SCROLLS ""MINUS"" DARK SOULS) fan's = CASUAL RPG gamer's !!! Namco wants to rake in elder scrolls fan base. But releasing in march 2014 won't do any good as most of those gamers would have shifted to next-gen.It would be really difficult to prioritize dark souls into their TO-PLAY list..!!! & NOT many prefer to play on PC in US/EU...!! I mean we hardcore DARK SOULS fan would play it no matter when the game comes out but what about those elder scrolls fanbase namco talked about in their previous interview's. I really wanted DARK SOULS 2 to sell atleast 5-6 Million copies but it seems a distant dream NOW !!! AUGUST'13 would have been an excellent release window from my point of view...!! MARCH'14 to birbal ki khichdi paka di FROM/NB ne.... Edited June 3, 2013 by ProblemSmoker
Tyler
August is two months away. They are probably not even done with half of the game. Dark Souls is still selling (more than two years after it's release). There's also a huge fanbase in Japan, which does not give a sh*t about nextgen. Persona 4 came out when the PS2 was on it's deathbed and yet was a huge hit. I don't think we should be worried about the Elder Scrolls fanbase. From did say that they wanted to capture new audiences with this game but it doesn't look like it's their top priority. The game will sell regardless of the nextgen scramble. It has a very dedicated fanbase who will buy the game day one. I'm pretty sure most people who have played and loved Dark Souls will get it. That's still a solid number. Like I said Japanese devs work differently. Edited June 3, 2013 by Tyler

Seriously, games like Dark Souls and The Witcher, Spec Ops: The Line are fine if they just get by. Stop living by sales numbers for success. Also, if these become pure commercial hits then say good bye to Developer and fan freedom and prepare for streamlining, streamlining and some more streamlining for good measure so that the next one can be an even better 'hit'. Heaven Angel
A new Fallout or Mass Effect or GTA V (PC) or Elder Scroll (not happening) will eat all Dark Souls. Some how I feel, even Witcher III (if it's released during same time) is enough to kill Dark Souls 2. Namco wants to rake in elder scrolls fan base. Yeah, Good luck with that. Some how I feel, even Witcher III (if it's released during same time) is enough to kill Dark Souls 2. Big doubt, the core of Dark Souls is strong enough to sustain it through. Looking at its thread in this section, shows the amount of time and dedication the players pour into the game. If the successor lives up, it will survive, come hell or high water. Witcher III is a completely different ball game, the combat is more challenging than SKYRIM and so is the plot-line, the art-style is unique and different (East Europe, Baltic fused with LoTR type tropes) but unlike the Souls series the game is not combat oriented, insularly nor is the environment and plot-line a singular dark, brooding streak. Lets not even drag something like SKYRIM or Mass Effect into the Reckoning (pun intended).
