Keano
Pursuer killed me a lot and then I figured out that I can use the crossbows/ballistas in the arena Edited March 14, 2016 by Keano
WhiteWolf
Isn't Smelter Demon far more tougher than The Pursuer or is it just me? DLC version is quite tough but main story one is not that hard imo One of the worst boss battle is against the Gank squad in Sunkenn king DLC ..I died like 15 times during that battle :|
Tyler
Gank squad is definitely meant for co-op. It's just a cheap fight otherwise. Pursuer is pretty easy once you have the attack patterns and dodging down but the fact that you meet him fairly early in the game makes him a challenging early boss. Dual Pursuers in the throne room though....
NitroNeo
I want to play this before 3, i like playing with a sword along with some handy magic spells for healing preferably or dealing damage, is there such a class that i can choose ? Heaven Angel
Cleric / Sorcerer. Cleric - more faith. Miracles benefit from FTH stat. Deals lightning elemental damage through its offensive spells. Most miracle spells are self-buffs which augments the user's effectiveness in battle. Healing and stuff Sorcerer - more intelligence. Sorceries benefit from INT stat. Most of the spells are offensive focused, while others can be used to manipulate sound and light. You start with Mace and healing spell as Cleric. You start with Dagger & Staff and Soul Arrow spells as Sorcerer. Both are good for melee-magic build.
glados87
Is it me ornly who thinks das is more fun with zero usage of magic and ranged combat.I have read for das2 being a sorcerer makes game easy and I dnt want that. I NEVER used a single spell during whole das das2 play.as I never had those stats for using them . May be m in minority but that's how I look at these games

However definition of fun is eclectic. If you fight without magic, then all I see is grey. Magic gives colors to combat, it gives versatality. It complements most builds. Have you pvp'd? Without magic as support, high level pvp is not for you. Magic is the surprise element of combat. Period.
Prateesh
I definitely enjoyed using miracles a lot more in Ds2 than in Ds1, the variety of spells was much greater. I still remember how ridiculous WOG and Sunlight spears were in PvP before they were heavily nerfed.
GunnerY2J
Was my third day of trying fume knight for an hour or more. And an hour could have plenty of tries as the path is very short to the boss. (Thank god for that) I was messing up his second phase again and again, first phase although a lot more tricky to dodge with his double weapons, can be managed with a 100% physical defence shield and by staying behind him. Was dying again and again in his second phase, unable to get the timing for his sweep attack (it seems now a lot more delayed and somewhat need to be very close to him and dodge behind him to our left) and the aoe dark balls (still can't dodge this for sure) But for the win, in the last fight had a perfect second phase with the cestus npc dying midway leaving me without any estus in the final third of the fight and for the first time I had an incredibly close fight which ended up in my favour. (what a feeling) There are just two moments where you can hit him (the sweep attack and the stab attack) and have to keep dodging everything else without retaliation and I did just that, now making me feel the second phase is very much manageable except for the dark balls. This was 'dark souls' for me and the most satisfying win I have had in the series so far. Fingers crossed for Darklurker. I play offline and dark souls 2 on ps3 is dead. Ancient dragon worth killing ? The path to him is damn long. I need twinkling titanite ,will have to see who sells them. Boss souls to consume or make weapons as there's no weapons trophy and I probably won't use boss weapons or is any weapon great for a hybrid faith build scaling with strength too.(lightning damage) Now shifted to lightning Zweihandler.(is a bit slow) Might shift to lightning red iron twinblade on late Ng plus. Will kill Vendrick and collect his Armor. Darklurker is scary especially the path to him and his double split., Licia done with the orb. I have skipped sunken king dlc, can't figure out the path in its first area. Edited July 8, 2019 by GunnerY2J
Heaven Angel
In that case, kill everything you see. Ancient Dragon is easy in ranged setup. Worth killing as you get Petrified Dragon Bone + Soul. Twinkling Titanite - 3 Sold by Chloanne after obtaining the King's Ring. Can be found past the Poison Pool bonfire in Harvest Valley sitting on a rock. Hmm, there are some good boss weapons like Warped Sword / Dragonrider Bow / Defender's shield / Drakewing US. Totally upto you. Don't consume souls of giants. GunnerY2J
https://youtu.be/D8tJn1yNEDU Absolutely legendary find. Just sit close to PS3,as soon as you press X at bonfire, the disc makes a click twice and then if the phantom loads up again a click in 3 seconds. What would have taken 3 hours plus immense Frustration done in 40 minutes.
GunnerY2J
After the final boss I won't go straight into Ng plus ? Have some things left to do ? How to avoid ngplus ? KyoyaHibari
You won’t go to ng+ in this unlike other games
GunnerY2J
Done with the main game, (63 hours with two and a half DLC done) Didn't want to sit on the throne this time. But going back also seems all was for nothing, story is weaker. Whole of dark souls 1 reminded me of this quote from bronn : I'd be a bloody fool if he didn't frighten me.Maybe I could take him, dance around until he's so tired from hacking at me he dropped his sword, get him off his feet somehow...but one misstep and I'm dead. But with Dark souls 2 I felt like oberyn Martell vs mountain. I die in both the cases but boss fights were a lot more satisfying and felt more skill based with dodging more beneficial than blocking. Fume knight was the most satisfying fight by far. Off to ngplus (hoping to get it done quickly running past everything), Nashandra might be a pain on ngplus.
