Awesome :samui::samui: Want.

And i suppose that starting the game wherever we want would lead to a lot of trail and error as to the right (read easiest) path. Hoping to go in order for the first playthrough atleast.

That boss looks bad a*s (although a little slow, but that might just have been configured that way for E3 demo). Also a couple of those attacks look like they can be parried.

Animations, still off though.

Seems like a really good challenge. But I'm really hyped for the online integration in this fight, expecting a few other boss fights in this manner too.

I really want some info on the magic, pyro in the game. Some of the new ones like the magic sword are really cool.

Some information on the story

“The basic style of the story telling is the same. I feel that the user’s imagination is much more fascinating than the story itself.... At this moment, the actual numbers of NPC can’t be revealed. However, it will be the same or a little bit more than the last title. The world is the kingdom once prospered in the past with few survivors.”
And when quizzed whether or not NPCs could be mined for some delicious world building anecdotes or details,
“There will be simple responses like YES/NO, same as the last title. However there will be nothing like dialogue trees.”

An open ended story is also a lot more fun to play around with, and the limited lore gives lot of food for thought.

And the NPC quests in DaS were fun, and it felt like they actually had character. Not like the cardboard cut outs from some other games.

Dark Souls 2 closed beta coming to PS3 this fall

PlayStation 3 owners will have the chance to get a taste of Dark Souls 2 this October with a closed beta test of the dark, challenging role-playing game created by From Software.

The Dark Souls 2 closed beta will take players to "one of the most treacherous areas" of the game, Namco Bandai says, which is also "entirely new" — presumably meaning an environment not previously seen in hands-on demonstrations at E3, Comic-Con and other preview events.

The closed beta is scheduled to begin on Oct. 5 in North America and Europe. Namco Bandai says interested fans should pay attention to the Dark Souls Facebook page starting Sept. 5 for information regarding the registration process.

Dark Souls 2 is slated to come to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC in March 2014.

Nice shield designs.

I hope big shields are more worthwhile this time around. Its kinda pointless to lug around a 15+ weight shield that needs 25+ STR and gives more or less the same stats protection as a small shield. And it cant parry. O.o
