^^ Oh, that sucks :( One of my friends got access who never played a Souls game! They should have given beta access first to people who played DS on PS3.

Try to get the Beta code for US PSN accounts. Read somewhere that US PSN code is same for everyone. Don't worry, there will be two more rounds.

BTW my body and PS3 is ready for awesomeness B) Can't wait!

A complete account of the BETA !!

OK, so the beta test likely takes place in the northwest wooded area seen on the preorder bonus map:

http://i.imgur.com/ygxIcEK.jpg

See the section of the river, with the suspension bridge leading to a skull on the right and a damn-like stone building on the left? Those are the broad confines of the beta area, with each major landmark (skull, stone damn) representing one of the two bosses.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvdmN3tUbtY#t=4m10s

You start the beta near a bonfire, facing a cliffside. If you turn around there is an inaccessible fog door to your right, a merchant to your immediate left, and the path forward further up and to the left. The merchant sells all of the basic class starting weapons, some spells, and a ring that boosts all resistances. You can toggle sitting down in front of this and all other bonfires with lighting a torch, which will be useful ahead.

On the path forward you will encounter some Hollow Prisoners, two non-aggressive and one hostile. You will then pass through a dark cave; the pathway ends in dead drops to the left, but there is a lower path it looks like you can drop down to on the far right side (no one tried it; no further info).

Through the cave is a cliffside building, with stairs leading up and a dark cave to your immediate right.

(no one explored the cave, so no info there)

Going up the stairs leads to the inside of the building. There are two Hollow Rogues inside: one on a ledge across the building firing projectiles from safety, the other on the same ledge as you to your left as you enter. Once the Rogue on your ledge is dealt with, another lies in wait behind the door exiting the building and will break the door down and attack if you attempt to open it.

Outside the door there are bars blocking progress to the right, so you are forced to go left on to the outside ledge. If you take the first right on this ledge you will encounter a ladder down; the second right has a Hollow Rogue around the corner in ambush and the Ring of War ring. From the ring's location, it might be possible to leap across the chasm and pick up another item.

Down the ladder, first turn left and enter the room for the second bonfire. There is a tree outside this room that you can kick over for a shortcut between the first two bonfires, bypassing the building.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvdmN3tUbtY#t=8m34s

As you go forward toward the first stone bridge, two hostile Hollow Prisoners (1 sword, 1 torch) will approach and attack. To your right before the bridge is a Soul of the Lost Undead. To the left is a Zweihander, guarded by a Hollow Rogue waiting in ambush on some tree roots.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvdmN3tUbtY#t=12m35s

You will be attacked by a Hollow Torturer while crossing the bridge. From here, there are two routes you can take, each leading to a boss.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE8viiwL6eU#t=1m42s

If you want to battle the Silver Chariot, turn right when crossing the bridge and cross the smaller stone bridge you find. In the small clearing two Hollow Prisoners will attack. Continue up the slope behind the clearing and you will be attacked by a Hollow Hunter (staff). There is a Crossbow and ten bolts guarded by Undead Prisoners if you continue along the pathway. If you instead take the path to the left, you will enter into a canyon guarded by 4 Black Phantom Hollow Hunters waiting on ledges (2 staff, 2 whip). Once defeated, these Hunters will not respawn. Immediately after the Hunters is a body carrying the Temple Knight starting equipment.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE8viiwL6eU#t=23m38s

Continue forward across the dilapidated suspension bridge. On the other side is the Silver Chariot boss fog, guarded by a towering Black Phantom Great Knight, wielding a Greatsword and shield. Fight him if you are brave. Otherwise, run past him and into the fog.

The Silver Chariot boss is one-half puzzle setpiece, one half combat. You enter into a circular track, with the Chariot and its rider racing in a circle attempting to run you down. Your only means of avoiding this are alcoves spread about the track that you can hide in. This process is made more difficult by the respawning skeletons also present on the track.

You must move left on the track, hiding in alcoves between the Chariot's passes, until you find a lever. Pulling the lever drops a portcullis, smashing the Chariot and its rider and leaving only the skeletal horses intact. Unfortunately, you will still have to take down these undead steads.

(No further info; no footage of anyone beating the boss)

If you want to battle the Skeleton King, continue forward after crossing the first stone bridge.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvdmN3tUbtY#t=13m31s

You will encounter another Hollow Torturer. Continue directly forward to face another Hollow Torturer, guarding a corpse holding the Dual Swordsman starting equipment.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvdmN3tUbtY#t=17m1s

Go through the narrow path to the right. There is an Undead prison cell you can enter that contains a Soul of a Nameless Soldier; the Prisoners inside will attack when you pick it up. Further up the path is a clearing with 4 Hollow Rogues lying in ambush: one to the right hiding, two to the left that will attack immediately, and the last straight ahead firing projectiles.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvdmN3tUbtY#t=18m53s

The bridge forward is out, so head left into another Undead prison cell to find the bridge control lever. An Undead Rogue will drop down once you enter. Take care of him, pull the lever to lower the bridge, and cross it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvdmN3tUbtY#t=20m11s

There is another Undead prison cell to the right; this one contains a bonfire, but the door is locked. (no info on key's location).

There is a crossroads at the pile of smoldering bodies ahead. The right route (the Skeleton Cave) is more of a side path.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvdmN3tUbtY#t=20m24s

This dark cave contains 4 skeletons controlled by a Necromancer. In the first room there is a body to the left with 3 Lifegems guarded by the first skeleton. In the room ahead there is a death drop if you continue forward. To the right are two skeletons and, behind a pillar, the Necromancer. There is a Twilight Herb near the pillar and a locked portcullis if you continue right. To the left is the cave exit, guarded by another skeleton. Exiting the cave will place you on the other path.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbqxZux9fDs#t=10m3s

Heading left at the body pile, across the stone bridge, will take you along a cliffside path towards the Skeleton King boss area. Two Hollow Rogues will attack as soon as you cross, and another attacks as you round the first corner. Two more Rogues attack at the area where the path diverges, one route going further up the cliff to the left and the path to the right staying level (the right path converges with the Skeleton Cave exit).

If you take the right path, another Hollow Rogue waits around the bend. Two more wait inside an Undead prison cell on the left of the path. Continue further forward and you will be pincer attacked by Undead Rogues that drop down from the path above.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZ_glEFr-Vo#t=8m12s

If you take the left path going up the cliff, you will first encounter a Hollow Rogue on the path. The path ends in a clearing with 3 Hollow Rogues waiting in ambush around an item. From this clearing you can jump on to the ledge above the lower path that one of the Undead Rogues ambushes you from. After that the paths converge.

NOTE: in some unknown circumstances, there might be a Black Phantom Hollow Torturer on the lower path

See:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbqxZux9fDs#t=12m33s

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZ_glEFr-Vo#t=9m52s

Once you reach the end of the lower path you can enter a doorway going forward (no info), or head right behind the waterfall to reach the boss fog for the Skeleton King.

The Skeleton King is an Enemy Rush boss. Initially the only enemies present are 3 Skeleton Necromancers. Once you kill one of them, however, souls will escape from it and animate bones throughout the boss room, creating Skeletons and Wheel Bone Skeletons. Every enemy killed, from the Necromancers to their post-death summons, will deplete the overall boss lifebar. The battle is won once you smash the last of the horde.
