AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! But I LOVE retail copies. Who does not, especially when it is a game that you follow. DinJo
Because the game has very poor textures which constitutes game data.
playstation
Because the game has very poor textures which constitutes game data. yea i know...just saying compare to todays game download size ...the dark souls game are nothing when it comes to size. Though i am looking forward to this game...i am disappointed with no effort in graphics.
KyoyaHibari
Size is low not because of the graphics, its because it doesn't have pre rendered cutscenes. High res textures wont take up much memory, pre rendered cutscenes does. Compare far cry 3 and tomb raider for example, TR(12.5 GB) had lots of cutscenes while FC 3(6 GB) while graphic quality is almost same for both. In fact FC is better imo. Also even metro last light is 6 GB. Many new games are around 6 GB only unless until they have lodes of pre rendered cutscenes. DmC 7 GB, Saints row 3 7.5 GB, BioShock infinite 6 GB. All ps3 values, not PC. They does pretty decent stuff with new character designs making them photorealistic. The only major graphicicl defect for DS2 is its environmental textures. They didn't try to do much improvements in that aspect, mostly because it involves money and time.

But what i know is even sound can take lot of the size. MGS4 had uncompressed sound files and it took most of the 44gb of that game size. Had to be shipped on double layer blu-ray. KyoyaHibari
Yeah audio files also. In most games like unchartted, gow, mgs prerendered cutscenes are in uncompressed formats. While fps like Kz, resistance has more memory because of uncompressed audio files. These uncompressed files are basically like bluray movie files. Not sure about movies but I know about anime bluray CDs, which are like 24 min 1080p ep will be like 1-3 gb. Movies, cg files will be a lot more size Edited February 28, 2014 by KyoyaHibari

ProblemSmoker
^^^^^ Bro open the spoiler TAG and see the environment ..Its better than anything souls game have seen till date,in my opinion. !!
Ethan_Hunt
Tower of Latria was the most scariest level ever designed in any Souls game. The very fear of running into a Mind Flayer would send chills down my spine. Then there's that haunting tune sung by "Once Royal Mistress". I saw the magazine screen-cap you have listed above and honestly, it doesn't come close to the atmosphere created by 'Tower of Latria'. However, it's yet to be seen in the full game, so we can all reserve our judgement till we play it.
