Are there any NPCs casually wondering the world ? i don't like a deserted RPG world, feels lonely when going deep in the game

Its basically a dystopic and deserted world, but still you will find many NPCs having their own issues and ended up in this world. There are NPCs who move around world constantly for achieving there own goals and they will also have lodes of stuff to share with you. NPC conversations are one of the best parts in the game. You can help them in their quests to game cool rewards or kill them also.

One of the main themes of game is loneliness, so you would be feeling lonely ingame.. To help you in your lonely journey though you can have coop partners by joining covenants(ingame factions) , read messages written by other players, look at phantoms of other players dying to save yourselves from dying the same way..... and finally you will also have some players trying to kill you(I will be in this category :P)

To sum up its deserted, lonely and miserable world but that doesnt bore you in the slightest.. it would only make you strive harder to survive and enjoy the game even more

Been playing full day. Killed sevral bosses. Currently Lvl 50. Stuck at the 3 sentinels boss. The bosses themselves arent so hard , its the part where y die and and have to run back again killing all the creeps on the way u had earlier killed since resting at bonfire now respawns all the enemies. Noticed that if y repeatedly kill the same creeps they stop respawning.

And servers are still down since waveking and i both cant go online, anyone able to play ds2 online? Its most prolly got to do with the EU launch but im still worried.

Where did you guys get your retail copies from?

I cancelled my order on flipkart, it just says mid-march so I didn't want to wait another week.

Grabbbit's copies are already booked and the other sites don't have a clue as too when they get their copies.

No difficulty settings..

Just get a hang of game controls first, game has unique controls. Blocking plays a major role here. Try to be in blocking stance even while there are no enemies around.

Try to practice doing backstabs and parry attacks on hollow enemies you fight in initial stages, by trying to parry you will die many times but its worth it. Its good to learn parry in initial stages because you wont have many souls to lose and enemies are easy to parry. In boss fights you cant parry(except 1 boss), you can only parry human sized enemies.

For boss fights try to observe their movements and roll to avoid attacks, during roll you will be invincible. Dont try to only block boss attacks with shield, it will take many tries to defeat them that way, try rolling instead.. Another good tip is to keep your distance from bosses. Dont rush in and try to attack them immediately, observe them and attack only when you think in position where the boss attacks wont hit you.

Dont upgrade any armors or shields its useless. Dont buy any spells. Use your souls to only level up. If you could get drake sword or uchigatana or black knight sword(this one is random drop, so cant get it 100%) in the beginning it'd be useful.

Digital Foundry Face-Off: Dark Souls 2 From hell.

"In terms of image quality, PlayStation 3 offers clear texture filtering advantages while Xbox 360 has higher resolution transparency effects."

"Xbox 360 commands a substantial lead in raw frame-rate, but the experience is blighted owing to ever-present screen-tear that is not present on the v-synced PS3 version."

Adventuring around Drangleic pushes both platforms in different ways. On 360 you get a smoother, higher frame-rate on average - typically by 10fps - but with screen-tear as a drawback. The PS3 suffers from drops below 30fps meanwhile, creating uneven, stuttering motion. The upside is that Sony's platform engages v-sync, meaning each rendered frame remains wholly intact.

Dark Souls 2: the Digital Foundry verdict

All of which leads us to a crossroads when recommending one version over the other. On the one hand, if you can't bear the thought of playing through a Dark Souls game with heavy tearing, the PS3 version is the only way to go for now. Performance is largely a sub-30fps affair for Sony's console, but thanks to an engine revamp with more aggressive LOD scaling, we have yet to experience sustained drops as egregious as the original Dark Souls at its worst. For the smoothest performance though, the 360's ability to push 30-40fps at most points is worth considering among those tolerant of tearing artefacts.
