WhiteWolf
The limited estus flasks and your health being reduced everytime you die pretty much ensures it. lol...Wow ..

meaNmachine
I killed her Does anyone know how to get Heide Knight's armor? I have the lightning sword and Defeated 4 bosses (not so good), game is easy so far. Frame rate is much much better than DkS1 on PS3. And the pvp/co-op matchmaking is so good. Grimlock
^ You cant get it untill NG+. What you can do is use the bonfire asecitic item that respawns the enemies and make the enemies in that area NG+ level. Then the armor will drop from the knights in your current playthrough. aj21
Sometimes you regain humanity by helping other through summons, sometimes you don't. The game should really make up its mind on what it is ffs. i think you regain humanity only if you don't die in there and return To all those who are fortunate enough to get their hands on ...........Is 2>>1 ?? just about done with one area. and i dont think 2>1 but at this point, cant really say 1>2 . in the end, it is DARK SOULS and the combat is great, so is the level design. matchmaking is smooth. graphics are way better than 1. framerate on ps3 does drop but not often and not game breaking. I killed her lol, dude. why ! anyways, PREPARE TO start again
aj21
No man, I specifically remember last night I did not gain humanity after killing (and not dying) the boss. maybe. i remember regaining humanity every time i helped the guy in defeating the boss. The JACKAL
There were a few hiccups after EU servers went live. But its all fixed and running now. And the online works baby. I assisted many ppl and whacked plenty of naab invaders. Although once it felt like one chap got a backstab on me from the front? Or he must've done a quick roll and struck a fluke. Either way it works and I'm loving it. Just killed the huge dog (or rat) boss. Nasty nasty boss. Died a lot there. As to what most ppl say about death being costly. Nah its not death, but restoring your humanity that's really costly since effigy are scarce. Not initially buy later on and its a bummer if y die right after. The old vendor in forest of giants sells 5 of them for 1500 each and later she camps in maluja so treasure those cus she's not going to refill once y buy them. Lvl 90 currently. Lvling has gotten a lot slower now. Also suggest ppl to get the binding ring if they don't already have. It limits HP loss when y a hollow by a lot. And ull need it cuts y gonna be a hollow for the most part. Edited March 15, 2014 by The JACKAL
The JACKAL
maybe. i remember regaining humanity every time i helped the guy in defeating the boss. You sure? I don't think so, cus ive helped ppl and remained a hollow . Or maybe you won't regain humanity only if you've gone full hollow.
Grimlock
Ive never regained humanity after helping someone with a boss. Also the binding ring is amazing, i never take it off. Its the new cling ring from Des.
meaNmachine
Same here, never regained humanity after helping someone. maybe. i remember regaining humanity every time i helped the guy in defeating the boss. You regain humanity (i.e. no health bar restriction) in other player's world. After you return to your own world (/time limit) you are back to your previous state. Tyler
Sup guys? Been playing for the last two days. So far my reaction is - yes, this is Dark Souls alright, except in some ways it's harsher and in other ways a little easier. Harsh because of the updated health/humanity system (though you can address some of it by getting the Binding Ring - which works like the Cling Ring from Demon's Souls), easier because of the fast travel. That said I got my a*s kicked several times - mainly in No Mans Wharf (very tricky area) and by the Pursuer who I tried to take on earlier than I was supposed to. Anyway I'm currently slogging through The Lost Bastille (another bitch of an area). I have already defeated several bosses and got some nice loot. I'm also kinda stuck at Royal Rat Vanguard, almost made it once only to be poisoned right at the end. Currently playing an EZ mode Sorc but also investing in melee because magic doesn't really cut it in some areas. The enemies are generally more brutal time around and will punish every single mistake. I'm not sure if I like the despawning thing but it sure does help that you can gradually clear out the path between the bonfire and an annoying boss. I must say the game looks kinda bad (probably worse than even Dark Souls in some areas). The art is still pretty good but the general lack of AA and the ultra low res textures look really crappy on the PS3. The difference between the earlier demos and the final game are staggering. Here's hoping the PC version has better textures. Overall, I'm enjoying it a lot and I don't think I'll be able to play anything else for a while (by the time I'm done with the PS3 version it will be out on the PC ). PS: Yes getting humanity after helping someone defeat a boss seems hit or miss. Either a bug or a hidden mechanic. EDIT2: so yeah a bug. Tyler
Just read waveking's post from the last page. I totally agree about the movement and animation not feeling like Dark Souls. It feels somewhat floaty (similar to how it was in Soul Form in Demon's Souls) and not as weighty as the previous game. Also too many bosses :| @MT, yes the framerate takes time getting used to when you have been playing mostly on PC. The last game I played on the PS3 was TLOU.
