^^Nice read. Thanks tyler ...it has always been great to read your view.

Shame that they did nothing about graphics.....the gameplay and all was always fantastic but the graphcis was what needed in this game to pull up things ...still have no doubt that it would be great to play.

I like the idea that there are too many bosses. I love it when games have that as long as it is nicely design also supported eually by good strategies to take them out...so how do you think are the boss designs in this game comapred to previous games till where you have played??

asking coz for me dark souls boss were big disappointment compare to Demon souls.

Oh lucky me. Got it on G4u for 1999.

So I am guessing the guides and mechanics will be cleared and understood by april 25th? Because i hated it in ds1 when i finished my play-through and then realized about rings, mechanics or entire areas I had no idea existed. Good on the game for being so complicated, sucked for me for missing out.

TBH the bosses I've faced so far were pretty generic at least in terms of design (one of the early bosses was a nice surprise - if you've played Dark Souls). Also only one boss actually required some skill and timing. I'm still fairly early in the game so I'm guessing the better bosses will show up later.

Anyway I'm past the Ruin Sentinels in The Lost Bastille. Had to summon two players for the fight... hey if they're not fighting fair, why should I? Helped a few others take out the Pursuer. Co-op is great while the game is new, you get summoned within seconds of placing the sign.

As for the graphics, clearly a lot of effort has gone in designing the areas and they're quite nice and varied artistically but they skimped out on the textures and effects, probably to balance out the frame rate. But even that is less than acceptable, sub-30 fps in some areas. Ugh. Also I feel the whole 'connected' nature of the levels is somewhat ruined by the always available fast travel system. Because of that it feels a lot like Demon's Souls' Nexus. The areas are still logically connected but you'll almost never use the routes once you've reached the bonfires.

TIP: the dogs in the Lost Bastille have a chance of dropping a Human Effigy. I've gotten quite a few from them... and now they're all dead :(

@Tyler, Add me on PSN.

Connecting with friends still sucks. I think to co-op with a friend we need to equip Name-engraved ring (buy it from the cat in Majula) and select the same god. This should increase chances of being connected.

@aj21 - Next time, let's try connecting with that Ring equipped.

This works. Tried it myself yesterday and farmed some Effigies. I don't have any equipment that boosts item discovery except that Explorer's hat :/

Where do we get the Gold Serpent Ring in this game?

^ You get an item that lets you interact with them later.

Also guys we should choose one God for the name engraved ring so we can connect together better.

meaNmachine you get that ring in the iron keep area.

Fun fact : I was helping a guy beat the pursuer and he decided to use the launcher thingies on him. But it missed him and hit me instead killing me instantly. He later messaged me "oops, sorry!"

happens a lot. i killed a summon this way who was helping me. killed another summon this way when i was helping a host.

LOL I never tried using the ballista in co-op.

@waveking, yup, I've realized that dodging/rolling and using i-frames is generally more effective than straight up tanking with a shield. I wish I could use one of larger STR swords, especially that Zweihander knock-off dropped by those bastards in Lost Bastille. Still, my +5 Flame Sword has served me well so far. It's definitely something everyone should get when they start a new character. Pretty easy to obtain and helps a lot in the starting areas.

Guys. Who else is getting this on PC when it releases? Judging by the way I am playing this on 360, I will need some serious help lol.

Drop them a message. =D

Also, wishing everyone on this thread a Happy, Colourful and Prosperous Holi. Cheerio!

I have the PC version on pre-order too. Add me to the list.

Anyway, Skeleton Lords are down. It's a great spot for co-op btw. Helped at least 4 others for the fight. The boss is pretty easy to solo but damn cheap, they throw in the Wheel Skeletons in there :(

Dinjo, which boss? Normally you'll find co-op signs almost everywhere. Make sure you're human.

On and BTW, in case someone hasn't figured out how the regain humanity thing works in co-op.... the curse gets lifted little by little as you defeat bosses in co-op. The limit on the heath bar keeps decreasing until it's full. Once you beat help someone beat a boss after that you'll regain humanity. It's probably the best way to save effigies.

Guys, remember that Ring of Life and Protection in DkS1? In Dark Souls 2, you can repair that ring for 3k souls after it breaks, LOL. With that Ring equipped, you won't loose humanity after death. I think this is a bug and will be patched soon.

That well in Majula. Troll Covenant

There is another way to farm infinite effigies but it is painfully boring. That exploit should also be patched.

I doubt it's a bug, seems intentional, I still haven't found it but yeah it looks like a must have. Either way I don't think it will actually make the game too easy, probably bring it closer to Dark Souls itself... with the added task of repairing the ring from time to time. TBH even with the Binding Ring the HP loss hasn't really been hurting me.
