THQ has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

In a press release, the company said that it would continue to operate as normal as they go through the bankruptcy process.

"The sale and filing are necessary next steps to complete THQ's transformation and position the company for the future, as we remain confident in our existing pipeline of games, the strength of our studios and THQ's deep bench of talent," CEO Brian Farrell said in a press release. "We are grateful to our outstanding team of employees, partners and suppliers who have worked with us through this transition. We are pleased to have attracted a strong financial partner for our business, and we hope to complete the sale swiftly to make the process as seamless as possible."

THQ said this would not affect any of the games they currently have in production, a library that includes Metro: Last Light, South Park: The Stick of Truth, and Homefront II.

South Park game will be crap and it'll end up loss for THQ again..considering Chapter 11, it'll be bad start again.

(Chapter 11 gives the debtor a fresh start, subject to the debtor's fulfillment of its obligations under its plan of reorganization.)

Why Homefront II? Homefront was average..No point in making Homefront II and later say "it didn't sell well". They should make Darksiders III instead of this.

Metro: Last HOPE!

They also have sales predictions in the bankruptcy filing.

Homefront 2 - 4 million sales and South Park: The Stick of Truth 3.1 million sales

Ridiculous! No way it's getting that much sale.

(they are expecting only 1.9 million sale from Metro: Last Light)

They will grind, grind and grind Saint's Row 4 with 20-30+ DLCs

Good luck, THQ!

That 1666 is Patrice Desilets' game at THQ Montreal.

South Park is being done at Obsidian Entertainment with the original showrunners participating.

Homefront 2 is being done by Crytek.

I don't think their sales figures are that inflated, quite possible to reach them.

It is not the end. Chapter 11 only means reorganization, this means THQ will get a chance to reorganize themselves, aka reorganization of the debtor's business or personal assets and debts. I would say this one last chance for THQ pull this together. I sincerely hope so, I loved Saints Row, Dawn Of War, Company of Heroes, Metro in fact I am psyched about all the new releases, including Homefront 2 (dont discount Crytek, when was the last time you have seen a bad game from them).

I am very hopeful about THQ returning as a better company with some kickass games.Give us Homefront 2 with spec ops like single player missions and mass effect 3 like fun multiplayer.. And bring WWE games to PC, make a MMO bellyemoticon.gif
