playstation
Don't care about him, its others who worked with him, put up with him and suffered. You and I, don't even know their names. they were already very small team and even though it took them six years it would Ueda would have had to face the pressure from Sony and to deliver the expectation from Media and gamers ...which was enormous ..He himself accepted feeling the pressure from gamers and media quite few times....so i dont know how you come up with that ...if anyone would suffer the most if the game does not meet the expectation it would him ... Karooo
if it is being rushed and watered down because of lot of issues....i rather see it cancelled than see Ueda's reputation suffer..... What reputation? How to mismanage a project? There are 50 guys who are creating TLG, and the reason for such a small team is because Ueda wanted people he "trusted". If there were, say, 100 or more people working on this, it definitely would have been completed fast.

I am not happy about him leaving Sony and that there is nothing positive coming out anymore about this game.....i dont know what is going on with this game now...it is not exactly wait but the thing that is going on now....ueda leaving, game being rebuild.... Sony wouldn't like to prove that TLG is/was a one-man show and without Ueda it wouldnt move so they will finish it, with or without his help. Well, did you ever think of a possibility that Ueda's leaving is actually Sony showing him the door because of its unhappiness with his incompetence/mismanagement? playstation
Full Interview with Shuhei Yoshida After more than six years in development, the recent news of director Fumito Ueda finishing work on the game as a contractor instead of an employee, and the lack of any substantial public updates in almost three years, it's hard not to worry a little about The Last Guardian. I don't want to, and it's still near the top of my most anticipated games list (I put it at #2 for the year), but to a certain degree it's unavoidable. So when I spoke with Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida at the DICE conference in Las Vegas yesterday, I asked him for an update on the situation. 1UP: Can you give us any update on The Last Guardian? Have you seen it recently? SY: Oh yeah, yeah. I've been seeing it. 1UP: Is it still healthy and good? SY: Well you know, there was a rumor that Fumito Ueda left the company or something like that. 1UP: That was confirmed, right? SY: Well it's confirmed in terms of the status of his relation to the company -- he was an employee, and now he's working on a contract basis. You know, we discussed an arrangement so he could focus on the creative side. But his work and his presence on that team never changed, so it was just more a contractual rearrangement, and that was taken [by many] as "he left." 1UP: Does he still work in the office? SY: Absolutely. Absolutely. He comes in every day, and he's probably one of the people who works the longest hours. The project has been making progress, but slow progress. So that's tough, but we haven't changed any focus. It's still a really important project and a vision we want to see realized, and Fumito's vision is really causing a very difficult challenge for the developers, so there's some scrapping and rebuilding -- iteration in the process. That's why [it's taking so long]. 1UP: So back to your earlier comment, did he become a contractor so he could work on the creative side rather than the business side? SY: It's a personal matter, so I can't really say. 1UP: Do you think he'll continue to work with Sony after The Last Guardian is finished? SY: If this project goes well -- you know, fingers crossed -- we've worked with him for a long time so yeah I certainly hope we can maintain a relationship. http://www.1up.com/news/shuhei-yoshida-last-guardian-update Omg there is still chance that if TLG is huge success Ueda could be asked to work.....that means Ueda did not left he was asked too...Why the f**k SONY?? ...anyways hoping and praying that TLG is huge success.....Everyone on IVG BUy the game First hand or

playstation
Keita Takahashi: Fumito Ueda Still Working on The Last Guardian Fumito Ueda is renown for his work on both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, two titles are often cited as the best examples of videogames as an artform. Ueda-san has most recently been developing The Last Guardian for the PlayStation 3, and has cited Half-Life 2 as a main source of inspiration. The developer parted ways with Sony Computer Entertainment Japan late last year over unclear reasons—and possible creative differences—but vowed to stay on the development of The Last Guardian till its completion, as a freelancer. The game is set for release sometime this year, barring any unforeseen delays. The developer was spotted reading a game review of Gravity Daze in the most recent issue of Famitsu. Keita Takahashi, creator of Katamari Damacy, caught up with him earlier this week and confirmed that he was still developing The Last Guardian. Despite setbacks on its development, Takahashi is keen on playing the game, which he believes will be something of a "compilation of [ueda's] works thus far". And Ueda-san came here. He is director of “The Last Guardian”. They are reading game review of Gravity Daze on Weekly famitsu. Of course I checked "The Last Guardian" as well. I wanted to say something but I will be killed by someone if I told something about it. So it’s still secret. I can't wait to finish this game because I think it will be compilation of his works so far:) http://www.gameranx.com/updates/id/5117/article/keita-takahashi-fumito-ueda-still-working-on-the-last-guardian/ Thank god, the game is making progress now. I guess by E3 they will be ready to reveal more details. June 2012.
