Aftrunner
It would be nice if they showed it and announced the release date as Sept but I have very little hope of that happening. 2013 seems like a safe bet, if that.

VelivolusDas
Contrary to popular belief, the game is not cancelled...... I just knew it that this game will never be cancelled..... @PS Bhai: This one's for you! The Last Guardian to ship 'when absolutely ready' - Sony E3 2012: Sony exec says long-in-development action game skipped E3 again so Team Ico could focus on innovation and quality. LOS ANGELES--The Last Guardian will ship "when it is absolutely ready," Sony senior vice president of product development Scott Rohde told GameSpot this afternoon. The executive explained that the long-in-development action game was not at E3 this year because developer Team Ico is focused on building the best game possible. "I will not give you a detailed update, but I will say one thing. It goes back in my mind to innovation and to gamers and to quality," he said. "That title is going to ship when it is absolutely ready." Rohde went on to explain that Sony has no deadline whatsoever for The Last Guardian. "And I think that's a really important thing to remember; that it would be very easy to ship a game when it's not quite ready because we need to meet a business plan," he said. "Gamers are first. And the experience that we provide is first. And that's why we're going to talk about that game when we're ready to talk about it." The last official word Sony gave on The Last Guardian came in February, when Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida said development on the game has been "tough." Formally announced at the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo, The Last Guardian tells a boy-and-his-dog tale, where the dog is a giant and feathered, yet seemingly amiable, beast. Team Ico has not been forthcoming with specific plot details, but gameplay will involve the boy manipulating his companion to navigate a variety of environmental puzzles. KnackChap
i think they'll move this to PS4 just like they did with ico (ps1 to PS2). but the whole SCE japan group is in tatters, they hardly could release HD games but now they seem incapable of making portable games too. good thing they sent the head of SSM to lead SCEJ and a bunch of their best engineers to teach those monkeys some coding. devil_angel
why did they have to announce it in the first place? Sony needs to learn from Ms here. Ms mostly announces a game with a year or less to it's release and markets it like a bomb.
Aftrunner
The problem isnt announcing the game. The problem is making the game. Announcing it makes no difference. Fans of the studio will still line up regardless of delays. Do you know anyone who was superhyped when the game was announced and now wont buy because its been delayed? People are disappointed sure, but they will still buy despite that. And marketing only comes into play a couple of months before release. The fact that they cant seem to get this done after being 6-7 years in development is a laughable. It still boggles my mind that Sony hasnt cleaned house with these guys. Incompetency is rampant. playstation
Brief) Reassuring Words From The Last Guardian’s Lead Creator Kotaku managed to catch up with Ueda and asked him what he's been doing since his departure from Sony. Ueda couldn't say much, but he assured us that he is indeed still working closely with the development team and that work on The Last Guardian is in progress. "It's been business as usual." Ueda said with a reassuring smile. "The only things that've really changed are the terms of my contract." Sadly, when asked how far along The Last Guardian is, Ueda could only laugh and say, "I can't really comment on the details." So it looks like the wait is still on. http://kotaku.com/5920144/brief-reassuring-words-from-the-last-guardians-lead-creator Itna din baad kuch bola.. par bhi kuch details nahi diya.
