Alienware x51 or custom built ?

NZXT might be expensive but they make the sexiest cabinets around .

More than expense I am bothered about the dust and finger-prints that the case will attract.

It makes it high maintenance and prone to higher temperatures thanks to the dust reaching areas best avoided.

Yea you are right,i got a chance to see the case in person today and it kinda feels cheapish with all the white plastic,it looks extremely good tho.

And i am only gonna go for a white coloured case as it ll suit the overall colur scheme.

Carbide 500r costs 6700/-

Phantom 410 is costing me 7400/- which is high for what it is i guess 500r has got the better reviews overall, nzxt looks better...so i m still not decided.

Will you stop trying to colour coordinate your set-up. If you are so interested in that, go for a Mac Pro.

The Carbide 500R is cheaper in finish and flimsier in its construct than the Carbide 400R.

And white will attract smudges and highlight dirt, a lot.

^ofcourse white will get dirtier easy, but i seriously doubt the 500r being flimsier cheap in construct ,i have gone through ton of reviews and none mentioned anything like that... and 400r is obviously better bang for buck but the curved edges on 400r are really not my thing ....but i will go for what comes out as the better deal when i settle the overall price. For now i ll keep both these cases(400r/500r) on my list.

And color matching ...lol...yea i do agree i sometimes get obsessed with that. :fear:/>

Btw what case you have on ur build??

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Sorry if that sounded harsh but I have a low tolerance for such behaviour at times.

I have a Cooler Master STORM Scout. It is three years old now.

^^black .i see :fear:

There are no colour options save black in that and my main purpose was the handle which I used a lot because of constant shifts in college hostel rooms.

^i was just kiddin.looks like a solid case,i was considering storm trooper for a while but its way to expensive about 12-13 k.handle could have been useful in hostel. since i started college about a year nd a half ago, shifted to hostel only recently tho.

Look at the Cooler Master STORM Enforcer.

The enforcer looks ugly.

And i am going with 400r anyway.

Here is the final config

i5 3570k

Gigabyte z77x- ud3h

Asus direct cu2 top gtx 670

Gskill ripjawZ 2133 mhz 8 gb ram kit

Kingston v300 ssd 128 gb as boot drive and a few applications

Seagatte barracuda 7200rpm 1tb

Corsair vs650 psu

Philips liteon dvd r/w

Coolermaster hyper evo

Roccat kova +

Roccat avro kb

Roccat mousepad

Corsair carbide 400r

All this for 93k

I still have some extra money that i can shell out on a better pu cooler ,but performance wise i know none which perform considerably better than evo.any suggestions?

Well one word for the SMPS, S#!+. Avoid that and go for the Corsair TX v2650W OR Cooler Master Silent Pro M600W.

Also, for the mouse mate again, poor choice. Stick to Razer Goliathus in this zone, I have had experience with Roccat mouse-mats and they are very thin and the surface starts to show wear-tear (flaking) very fast. Especially their Speed edition mats like the Roccat Sense.

For CPU cooler, if you plan to over-clock more than ~4.5GHz I suggest you look at the following options --

^^ All these coolers perform better than the Hyper 212 EVO, come with two fans out of the box and are quieter under operational load.

Hope this helps, Cheerio!

I am most definitely going to overclock to 4.5 ghz...

Which one of these is better keeping that in mind??

Also are they gonna block the ram slots??btw i dont care if they run silent or not i just want it to be effective and possibly under 6k

And about the mousepad yeah i know about roccat being mediocre at that....but my dealer is throwing one in for free, thats why i dont know the name of the pad..:D/>

And i ll try to get the tx 650 ,i asked for that only but it wasnt in stock.i ll wait till stocks i guess then.

I would suggest the Noctua OR Thermalright in that case OR the SVG Tech HOC 40 --> Buy the SVG Tech HOC 40.

The HOC 40's biggest advantage is that it will not interfere with the memory modules at all and performance is very good for the price point.

For the Noctua and Thermalright coolers you will have to adjust the fan placement which is not possible for the V6GT because of build reasons.

Get the Corsair TX v2650W minimum the VS650W is simply not worth its price.

How much is he charging for the Roccat Kova[+]? I might be interested in picking up one sometime in March OR February.

The mouse + kb is costing 5700 ,so i guess mouse will be upwards of 2600.

Edit kova + costs 2700 i just checked the price list the guy gave me.

Btw what do you think bout how long will this rig serve me at high settings ???

I definitely dont plan to upgrade for an year, after that it depends on how the console scene is.

About svg tech hoc40

Do you think its worth it ?

Cause i just happened to talk to one of my frnds about closed loop cooling and he firmly was against it as he had a bad experience with a corsair cooler ,which leaked and ended up killing the mobo with it.

Okay, where are you based?

On high settings expect the RIG to last around two years on full-HD resolution, then depending on the next generation of consoles things might change OR not.

Which cooler did your friend have?

I think it is fully worth it as long as you do your homework and are careful with the product. It is an Indian company so servicing and replacement should not be an issue.

In my view what happened with your friend is totally deplorable and a case of bad-luck but in all honesty you cannot make omelette without breaking the egg. Also in your case an air-cooler might clash with the tall heat-spreaders on the RAM modules.

Accha, okay. I am Delhi based will look into things and see how everything pans out. The Roccat Kova[+] is mainly so that I can review it (and I'm biased to ambidextrous mice) but currently tied up with samples and other older hardware hence, later it comes.

About the H80 incident I reiterate that it was really bad-luck, suggest that you have a word with the proprietor of SVG Tech (he is an enthusiast) about the whole thing and take a call.

Hope this helps, Cheerio!
