The screenshots in the IGN preview look very interesting. It's a definite change away from realism - there's an anime look to the characters.

Also, no weapon upgrades - only gauntlet and sword are available. So I guess skills are going to improve and more combos will be learnt a la Warrior Within.

The most interesting thing is the one on one fights. This game does not have hordes of enemies. Each battle therefore becomes a kind of boss battle which features stronger AI. So it's definitely going to take more than button mashing.

The Corruption suspiciously sounds like the Dahaka element. I hope there's no more of Dahaka-style chases or acrobatics - I sucked big time at them.

Fresh Info straight from Ubi Day Live Feed:

The "game mechanic" to make up for the lack of the sands of time is the Prince's constant companion right through the game (Elika, I think, but not sure). The devs are working very hard to make her an integral part of every aspect of gameplay... she's gonna help during combat, the puzzles will be solved cooperatively with her and she will be some sort of guide right through the game. The devs also guarentee that she will not be a burden at any point during the gameplay.

Here's the teaser trailer they showed

PS: Sorry if this is stale news

Sidekick = HAWWWWWWWWT

Farah / Kaileena / Elika - what a series!

Loving the style more and more. Reminds me of some DS games - cartoony characters over realistic environments. Of course this means that there will be over the top animations since the models might not be constrained by a 3d skeleton.

There very much is a 3d skeleton involved. The visual style is basically cell shaded polygons.
