Wait so Relic got them more money than SR did? How?

Also how is the winning bid for SR 22 Million and the runner up bid 5 Million?

And where the hell did Koch Media get all that money?

Shame about Vigil and Darksiders. I am not a fan of the series but its still surprising that no one wanted it.

THQ auction rumours: Relic to Sega, Volition/Saints Row to Koch, South Park to Ubisoft

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-01-23-thq-auction-rumours-relic-to-sega-volition-saints-row-to-koch-south-park-to-ubisoft

The high bidder for Saints Row developer Volition is apparently Koch Media, parent company of Deep Silver (Dead Island).

<_</>/>/>/>/>/>/>

Dead Island publisher ? ..i hope they will give Volition full creative freedom and proper budget for SR4

Judging by the latest Collector edition of Dead Island Riptide, i say SR is in good hands..

Iam happy that SR is not owned by EA,Ubi or Activision

How big is KM?..Can they fund a big budget open world game ?

Dead Island, a well polished, high production value title?

$500k Homefront (Crytek)

$26M for Relic (Sega)

$2.5M for THQ Montreal (Ubisoft)

$3.2M for South Park (Ubisoft)

$11M for Evolve (Take-Two)

$22.3M for Volition (Koch Media)

$5.8M for Metro (Koch Media)

All games are to die...Homefront might have little future (let's see).

THQ's WWE license going to Take-Two

WWE Video Game License to be Acquired by Take Two

A new era begins.

The era of THQ wrestling games is over. Sources have indicated to IGN that the WWE game franchise will be sold to Take Two, parent company of 2K. Terms of the sale are unknown at this time, as details have not been finalized. These negotiations appear to have taken place outside THQ's formal auction process.

This news comes as THQ assets have been divided among several different publishers, pending court approval.

I grew up playing WWE on my old PS2, Saint's Row 2 (crazy monkey shaking screen) on my old PC, Darksiders..etc..

I cannot see how this is good..Ubisoft will shut down South Park, Volition is going to die soon..Dead Island Riptide looks really bad.

(check gameplay reveal video-yesterday..Dead Island polished)

Hope Take Two does something good with WWE.

Good bye THQ, thanks for wonderful journey. :majesty:

Don't know about everyone else but relic is pretty good with SEGA, they were rivals with the latter's PC crown jewel Creative Assembly.

And now that both are owned by the same publisher, I am hoping for a TOTAL WAR game for those who really appreciate turn by turn strategy games whilst relic can do what it does best Company of Heroes and utilize the Warhammer 40,000 license that has been lying with SEGA since last year.

Just hope that METRO Last Light and Company of Heroes 2 come out.

A lot of their IPs and staff was left unclaimed .

As far as I see the only high-profile looser in the entire scheme of things is Vigil who did the DARKSIDERS saga.

Source: WWE expected to sign new video game deal with Take-Two Interactive.

No announcement has been officially made yet, but IGN has reported that the WWE video game franchise will be sold to Take Two Interactive Software, Inc., parent company of 2K Games.

^ Just rumours, like the Take Two report.

Here's Atsushi Inaba, the head of Platinum Games, makers of Bayonetta, Vanquish and other cool action titles:

Translation: "In THQ studio and IP selling off auction, Darksiders is unsold? [We] wanna buy it...on the cheap..."

Ubisoft did pretty well in the auction. With THQ Montreal they got two new IP in development for $2.5 million. Not bad at all. And $3.2M for the South Park license plus a game that's already done and ready for release.

Koch severely overvalued Volition though, especially if reports that the Volition sale doesn't include the Red Faction IP are true.

I really want to see what Take Two saw in Evolve to pay $10 million for it, especially considering that their own financial situation isn't the greatest.
