Sony Santa Monica Is Also Interested In Vigil's Employees

I think Sony Santa Monica will make a better Darksiders game than Platinum..Platinum is all combat and style everything else is ok in their games...Not fit for Darksiders...Darksiders needs a western developer....

I don't think any of the raw vs sd game comes even close in every department even the graphics!

Since SVR 2007, the polygon count was increased way more than HCTP. So yeah, even the PS2 WWE SVR games were better looking than HCTP, and we are not considering current gen games at all. But HCTP still remains the best WWE game. WWE 13 comes a close 2nd.

Take Two take the WWE License pleaseeeeeeeeeeee.

+1 2K , with EA we will get good online , with 2k we get gr8 innovative gameplay , though their MLB games are not that great but still with NBA they give hope , EA will just milk with a mainstream crap game & don't EA have UFC & fight night , how much fighters do they want , greedy as ever

Through this generation, we’ve seen many developers come and go.

Over the past few years, THQ has been in financial trouble, and declared bankruptcy recently.

A few days ago, their franchises were auctioned off to the highest bidders.

It’s a sad day for the gaming community, as the body of THQ was thrown to the vultures and picked clean.

Even in the midst of losing their jobs, the employees of THQ kept their spirits up.

Today was the company’s last day of operation, and in its final moments, they paid tribute to Saints Row.

This one’s for the homies

I’ll let the video below speak for itself.

In their final moments, the employees cracked open a 40 ounce drink and poured it out on the front steps of the entrance of the building, “for all of you… and the THQ and Saints homies.”

You do realise that "Everything else" you talk about costs like a bajillion dollars right? GOW costed even more to make than UC2. Whereas PG games cost very less. Darksiders already proved that the high budget/ high sales thing doesnt work out for it.

What if the new steambox is actually the new Dreamcast?

:rofl:/> ... Steambox shall kill playstation and exact Sega's revenge.

Ummm... they were pretty strong since the day they backed Creative Assembly, it is a niche player and very respected amongst its followers.

They also did a few shooters, ALPHA PROTOCOL comes to mind, was a shooter-RPG with some very flimsy shooter principles. Now they are doing ALIENS with GEARBOX lets see how that ends up.

Ummm I think you didnt get the point. I hope you know SEGA were originally console developers behind Genesis,Saturn,Dreamcast. The fact that they are now focusing more on PC and moving away from Console games is pretty ironic.

Even PSO2 is exclusive to PC and thats like the first RPG on consoles ever. Their recent PC ports have also been great.

^^ True , but quality was never an issue with the game.

IMHO , I think the action genre is just Niche genre more focussed towards hardcore. The mainstream high production value thing has just been failing too much or a lot of games. Heavenly Sword, enslaved,Castlevania (pretty low sales , only thing that saved it was the name) and now DmC.

I think its better to make a game with low budget and get like 1.5m-2m sales instead of attempting to pull of a GOW. I mean even for GOW it seems like money can be better invested in Shooters. GOW costed way more than UC2 , but UC2 sold a loot more.

Either way hope they get bought by someone, dont wanna see em die.

Now that would be ironic. SEGA's folly being absolved by Valve almost a decade plus later.

I know that they were one of Nintendo's biggest rivals in the early pre-PS console generation but since the Dreamcast turned turtle they reorganized their core speciality to become a publisher and one of their first PC franchises was TOTAL WAR done by Creative Assembly (originally paid for by EA).

Now they were strong from that point onwards, every TOTAL WAR game that has been released since is graphically and technically sound, has a ton of MOD support.

Last year they shut shop in the mainland EU territory, they have only one office and that is in the UK alongside Creative Assembly and relic now.

I never felt they were weak OR an unknown factor in games, at-least they are stable and well received from the RTS P.o.V. EMPIRE TOTAL WAR sold better than relic's DoW II (they shared the release date).

Vigil Games Crafts A Fitting Tribute To The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword

http://mynintendonews.com/2013/01/26/vigil-games-crafts-a-fitting-tribute-to-the-legend-of-zelda-skyward-sword/

The artwork above was crafted by Darksiders II developer Vigil Games. On its Facebook page, Vigil Games says it made the artwork as a tribute to one of its favorite video games, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Since its inception in 2005, the developer made two games – Darksiders and Darksiders II – both of which were inspired by The Legend of Zelda series. Although Vigil Games is defunct as of January 23rd, 2013, Platinum Games’ Atsushi Inaba expressed interest in purchasing the Darksiders franchise.

I Hope Santa Monica get DS , that way they can expand GOW , i hope they find a way to merge both GOW & DS worlds in future , makes sense to merge heaven n hell , the combat of DS is similar to GOW anyway

Hmm must have skipped the WWE to take-two , wow that's epic :boxing: , now people will get the WWE PC Version

Take Two is getting WWE licensing is the best news of the entire THQ bankruptcy saga. There are too many AAA games released now a days and in the current economy every game is not going to sales like COD or GOW. Publisher and Developer has to very careful in planning their game release and should focus on limited and good games.

Santa Monica will just use the Devs from Vigil to churn out more GOW games. I never liked the art-style of DS (personal preference, I dont like those Starcraft like graphics in games for eg Fable, Amalnur, DS etc) and combat was alright. DS 2 bored me with pointless fetch quests as well.

Well in that sense there are many great games out there which might be considered unplayable , the top one would be NBA 2k12 , though i could care less about it , anyway fable 2 had a good Ol co-op system
