stingray
Have Witcher 2 & 3 lying in my steam account since ages.. installed them but never gave more than few hours to these games; as am more into shooters like Doom, Wolfenstein or even far cry series, etc. (single player only). tried to start playing Witcher 3 again after hearing only positives on the forum and elsewhere, but could not find anything engaging there - don’t know what is not clicking for me in this game..[emoji52]

You won't find good combat here. It's among weakest part of the game. Just play it for characters/story/missions and chill with nice OST and scenery. Vdmn95
The Witcher Books are pretty amazing, i read them all during my second playthrough of the Witcher 3 and it enhanced the experience immensely. There are nods to the books and reading them improves your understanding of the politics and characters of the game. The game subtly refers to incidents which happen in the books, most of the characters are straight out of them. CD Project did an amazing job on weaving a tale which is deeply rooted to the existing lore. On a side note, diehard fans should definitely check out a multi-part documentary series on youtube by Noclip. It tells the complete story of the history of CD Prokect Red and the Witcher series. Those guys came from rock bottom.

Ooh yess, Andrej Sapkowski killed it with the books, despite it being know more for the video game, which is also excellent.

If you can, try to stick with the game till the next location - Velen and see if it clicks? White Orchard didn't have any memorable quests afair. Bauji
And the game just keeps on giving. After a tiring day thought I will just leisurely stroll and check few question marks in Velen. Came across an abandoned house, used Witcher senses which revealed some markings. This triggered a quest which went on for an hour or so... checked more spots like these and found 3 more quests like these. All of them were very interesting and none of them were marked anywhere. Slept at 2 am that too because the controller's battery was drained. It's amazing how this game encourages and rewards exploration. This is how an open world game should be. Those quests have starting points, either talking to some man or from the notice board but you can start the quest from the "middle steps" as well. It's a very novel way of doing quests, it means there is no linear order to those quests in the gameworld, and makes it more alive. RDR2 in comparision is a linear game in an openworld setting. TW3 is real open world. Cant wait for Cyberpunk. Hopefully I can get my friends currently in the US to bring me the steelbook

Yup, RDR 2 is the closest to this in terms of the overall quality and complexity. Liked exploring the open world of W3 more as I can call my horse wherever I am and in RDR2, if your horse even just brush a NPC, its instant wanted level crime. Understanding what R* was going for, these things were very irritating at times. On 11/2/2019 at 2:13 PM, Gavara Tarun said: Cant wait for Cyberpunk. On one hand, BB is giving it for effectively $38 with steelbook but on the other want to wait and get the eventual GOTY edition and play it on PS5. SpearHea:D
The whole game is filled with beautiful & brilliant music. Marcin is a genius. 10/10 game & 10/10 music. The amount of passion and love they poured into making this game is so good to experience. A new bar has been set.
Heaven Angel
The Witcher 3 continues to sell well as CD Projekt reports rising revenue https://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/354556/The_Witcher_3_continues_to_sell_well_as_CD_Projekt_reports_rising_revenue.php Who would've thought that making an excellent game with great expansions will sell this good.. NitroNeo
Man this game just put me in a hard place to side with the tree or the crones. I checked out variety of videos and comeents online. But either way those outcomes make gerelt have blood on his hands. I didn't think i could reach a point of not going on in this game. But the devs really did something despicable with these choicesSent from my SM-N975F using Tapatalk
Bauji
Started Hearts of stone and finding it a bit difficult than the base game. The characters just like the base game are as usual great, however starting to get a bit bored roaming Velen, Novigrad for close to 100 hours now. All the missions in the main story are also great. Spoiler Dead Man's party mission - Felt nice to see Geralt a bit happier and the atmosphere in the mission - Scenes from a marriage... Bauji
Finished HoS. Loved the Scenes from the mariage quest...highlight of the DLC for me. I found it very difficult to make the end choice of that quest. Spoiler I let her keep the rose. Have to Youtube what would have happened if I had made the different choice. Similarly, very interested to check the other endings of the final mission. I helped Olgeird. Another break and will then tackle the final DLC of this exceptionally well made game.
