luckily I got the chance to finish Witcher 1 when it was released .. the only part '2' did better than the 1st one was the combat. otherwise I think '1' was a better game overall

true, witcher 1 was the better game, 2nd felt more like made to cater to a wider audience ! I especially felt the USP of the first game was the morally ambigious choices that the game forced you to make .... and the choices were real tough to make, not just some "save kaidan or ashley" kinda choice !

kaidan or ashley was a no brainer for me :P Its good to see that there are other ppl who feel the 1st one was a better game overall ..

^^ witcher 1 took me by surprise as i had never experienced such rich and realistic approach to a fantasy game..witcher 2 was short and finished abruptly.and was densely packed with politics. it was good but did not have witcher feel so much...

cdpr has a lot of pressure this time around and even if they miss by a fraction they will be badly criticised.. they hav such a hype around them this time that is more like india vs pakistan cricket match. :P

it will be really great challenge to provide the same tight and well narrated story with rich and realistic open world... lets see how they pull it off..

the funny thing is that first game was underrated and this one seems overhyped!!!

they built up the hype themselves to a certain extent imo.. The only thing I wish for is a better story overall. 2nd one was quite short(I don't count iorveth quest line separately) and the story of geralt himself didn't move forward at all.

The ending was abrupt but saying Geralt's story did not move forward. What?

The second one was also decently top heavy when it came to choices. No long term blow-backs though like in the original.

I mean, I do not recall any game ending that allows you to do this in the ending,

All the added side quests, should contribute to the overall main story - may be some lore information, extra hand, friends on help etc

Really doubt that . Did it happened in Witcher 1/2 ?? I dont seems to remember that .

thats's what I want from any side quests. I am yet to finish witcher 1 , side quests did help in the main quest and technically most of them are not side quests.
