Charles Dance, the British actor and screenwriter best known for his roles in Alien 3, The Last Action Hero and Game of Thrones, will voice Emperor Emhyr var Emreis in The Witcher 3.

“Charles Dance is the perfect candidate to play the mighty Nilfgaardian emperor in our upcoming title. It’s a dream come true for the team here at RED to be able to work with such an accomplished actor and magnetic personality,” said Marcin Blacha, Lead Writer for the title.

Another CGI trailer :( , need to some real gameplay .

There is about a year between now and the release of the game, they will release game-play in PAX 2014 most chances. Till then there will only be teases and CGI wizardry doing the rounds.

Interview in Polish radio with Adam Badowski, director of CD Projekt.

Summary:

Witcher 3 is complete in 99% but at the same time said in software development it does not mean match.

There's a lot of time to make the game even prettier and that's what they are doing right now, polishing etc.

Geralt can ride a horse, jump, go anywhere.

Performance: Witcher 3 will also push limits to the hardware, says they still optimize. The game will require high-end PCs for high settings on the day of release, but they want the game to look good a year after on newer hardware so people can crank the settings even more.

Facial expressions: They have a dynamic system for facial expressions to adjust for different language versions. Says the English version was the hardest to make, especially Polish jokes were impossible to translate so they had to come up with equivalent English/American jokes.

180 people work on Witcher 3. Says they don't want to be a giant company, because work gets much more complicated in corporations. They want employees to work closely and communicate at all times.

When talking about the latest trailer, the interviewer asked if making a full-length movie with Witcher would be possible, but that turned into a laughing session about actor Witcher movie made in Poland years ago.

Fighting system: Asked about the different between W1,W2 and W3. Asked if more casual player will be able to handle or if experience from previous games will be required. Badowski replied: "Fighting system in W3 will be more polished version of W2's. More available actions, more animations and tweaked/improved controls.

No multiplayer mode at all. They don't want to target it at all (in context of Witcher).

hope its better optimized that witcher 2,ubersampling is a bi*tch

Optimisation will not reduce the hardware requirement to run the game in its full glory.

About the latter part, it is meant to be one. In every game.

ofcourse it wont but it ll be better if its not a resource hog

The Witcher 2 is not a resource hog, in-fact it as a proper PC game as it should be.

  • Multi-core optimisation
  • high resolution textures
  • optimal number of settings to tweak how the game looks
  • Übersampling

Witcher 3 might be slightly better polished with full Dx. 11.0 support. So I expect it to look ravishing.
