Sigh some of that stuff soinds really awesome. Would have loved a darker sabbath and Crones quest. Would have absolutely loved a Skellige gwent deck (Gwent is becoming my most favourite side game in a video game lol). Sad to see so many great ideas that were dropped (Don't get me wrong, the game is excellent as is, but some ideas over there just seems so good that it's a pity it was dropped; oh well).

Anyway, going to start reading the Witcher novels. Got The Last Wish and Blood of the Elves. What's the correct order to read the entire series? Also, are all the books available in English yet?

I am pretty sure we will see a new gwent deck in blood and wine dlc.

Here is the proper order of reading them and no there is not a complete compilation of Andrzej Sapkowski's Witcher books although fan translations exist and are rated pretty highly.

Thanks Alpha. Just a question, is there any difference between the fan translations and the official one? Generally, it irritates me when I am halfway through a series and text quality, names of characters etc. changes.

175 Hour :O . I am now in skellige and clocked around 30 hour . Will probably take around 10-15 hour more . Where did you spent most of the time . Playing Gwent ?

Spent a lot of time roaming, doing quests, reading lore and all. Not a book that I didn't read. Finished all side quests, contracts, etc. I was about 25 hours when I left white orchard :fear:

^ Yeah, if you are playing offline or without the client running, you will not be able to clock your hours.

Use the inventory to pull up in-game statistics. Unless it was included in a later update which does not account for the time you spent playing earlier, the game is easily going last ~100 Hours on the higher difficulties.

I'm at 100 hours...didnt even finish Act 2

No, generally on reddit and the reviews on GoodReads have been on the positive for the fan translation.

I capped the game at ~170 Hours including the Hearts of Stone DLC.

The Witcher 3 was the only game I played consistently for a month after release, so I was powering my way through as much as I could. Will try to do a re-run once they release Wine and Blood.

At the risk of getting banned....

Locking armor behind level requirements is bollocks. If I pick up the armor and can craft it, I should be able to wear it. But by the time I get to the level where I could wear that armor, I have already picked up like 5 different replacements for it that are better. So basically finding, crafting or buying any armor set that you cannot use immediately is utterly pointless. Swords, maybe I could excuse it. Especially since they dont have stats so it has to be level based. But absolutely no reason for armor to have that bullshit. Make it hard to get if its really good and you are afraid of low level players using it. That way those who can get it deserve to use it.

The only exceptions are the Witcher school armor sets but then again, if you pick one of them up there isnt much point picking anything else up in that range.

^ This was expressed even before the game was released, lot of people were down on it. I never really found it cramping my style, I played with mix and match armour sets before switching to the Griffin and Wolf School sets in the end.

Plus, swords and armour get interesting stats as you go along, especially in Hearts of Stone.

But, were you not interested in stats about the armour as long as it looked cool but then again maybe I am imagining things.

Agreed, more so that if you are the exploring type then you come across a LOT of recipes but there's no motive for crafting them. Potions on the other hand are quite nice. There are a couple of armor pieces that are OP such as the assassin's gauntlets. Perhaps the biggest disappointment for me was when I unlocked the master swordsmith. He promised to give me a sword that even the gods would envy, or some similar metaphor. However the sword that I was using had overall better stats than the prize that I ultimately received.

By the time I got to the final fight, I was GOD incarnate. The final boss couldn't chip more than 1% of my health. I had almost infinite health and 35% critical chance. Half the charm is getting to build an OP set.

Biggest disappointment for me was the family sword 'Winter Blade' given by Crach an Craite for helping his children after much build-up.

Geralt : That's some amazing craftmanship.. Winter Blade.. thought it was a legend.

Crach an Craite : And now it is yours!

..checked stats and ran to the blacksmith to sell it

Oh yeah, that was quite a disappointment. Actually that whole alchemy/crafting is poorly handled in the game.... it could've been an amazing mini game/distraction on its own, but it just ends up nowhere.... I sold 90% of the stuff I found, and stuck to cat armor....
