ALPHA17
Oh yeah, that was quite a disappointment. Actually that whole alchemy/crafting is poorly handled in the game.... it could've been an amazing mini game/distraction on its own, but it just ends up nowhere.... I sold 90% of the stuff I found, and stuck to cat armor.... Alchemy was best done in the first game. Wish they would have brought that experimentation game back with slight tweaking so that you could save a set of formulae that you have brewed and are happy with. Crafting does not need to be part of The Witcher, it breaks the lore and honestly I would rather not turn into Geralt, the Blacksmith who churns out a thousand cheap knives to produce one Drake sword or some such. Ne0
They shouldn't have made alchemy into a separate tree.... It should've been a complimentary skill in one of the other trees.... Most players just tend to ignore it I guess....
ALPHA17
^ I concur. That was how it was in the original title.
Kazekage Gaara
Just finsihed the game I got the ending where... Ciri became a witcher Although I do miss the chance of getting the black Nilfgaardian horse. The current brown is not my favorite. Would've loved the change Will be taking a break from Witcher before I pick it up again for the Hearts of Stone DLC. Might dabble in some strategy games, Starcraft maybe

dylanjosh
Are there advantages to playing different decks in Gwent? Right now I'm only playing Nothern deck and ignoring others because I don't have the cards for those
ALPHA17
^ Different decks have different meta to deploy correctly. Play Northern Kingdoms till you manage to build a decent hand in the others.

Aftrunner
Can you continue doing secondary quests and Witcher quests after you finish the main storyline??
Heaven Angel
Yes, but most of the characters linked to main story are no longer there. Also, you will be teleported to state of the world before final mission. Kinda immersion breaking.
ALPHA17
^ Depends on the quests, side-quests and monster hunts are accessible but character interaction missions will get locked out / fail.
dylanjosh
OK is it just me, or is crossbow combat pretty crap? I actually like sword and sign combat, but crossbow doesn't feel satisfying at all. It feels very awkward to use. What do you guys do when faced with a gang of bandits with an archer in the back? I thought using crossbow is what I'm supposed to do, but now I just run to the archer, kill him, and come back out and kill everyone else one by one. ALPHA17
^ Your crossbow is not a weapon to duel with or stand toe-to-toe with anyone, it is basically to interrupt a monster / pack of enemies to overwhelm you in the opening moments of the fight. You can get better bolt types later to deal more damage or inflict an affliction on an enemy.

I thought using crossbow is what I'm supposed to do, but now I just run to the archer, kill him, and come back out and kill everyone else one by one. Crossbow combat is pretty crap and useless in most situations, especially if you've upgraded your Aard sign which can bring down flying monsters. I mainly used it for underwater combat where it's a one shot kill. To deal with the archer, upgrade and equip the arrow deflecting skill. With the right timing you can bring down an archer in 3 deflections.
ALPHA17
^ Or you can upgrade Aard to have an AoE attack. Or you can use Igni as a jet of flame (alternate attack) to light enemies on fire. Alternately have an alchemy build that boosts your regeneration with the more number of potions you have imbibed. The crossbow is your only weapon in underwater scenarios.

Yeah crossbow combat is crap but it isn't meant to be used in fight IMO . I only used it in underwater combat . Just use Ard to deflect the array or you can even use upgraded Quen . And there is also an ability that can deflect arrows .

But I had a lot of fun shooting them graud flying bastarads and seeing them plummet. Then throw a dancing star bomb and go to hack and slash city
