Man , this game reeks of Doom 3 & PC upgrade vibes. The recommended spec for Doom 3 was P4 1.5 Ghz and I had a dying rig built before the millennium mostly , P3 just under a Ghz with a Leadtek GeForce2 MX which couldn't play it. So , got it on Xbox and lived happily ever after :P

until I got the PC version after the inevitable upgrade :fear:

This is probably the first game of the new generation that's gonna make most PC gamers cry for power like what Crysis did last gen and Doom 3 a gen before.

OT but here goes: Doom 3 made me PC gamer really, I mean I gamed on PC but the tweaking and upgrading was taught by Doom 3. I played Doom 3 with my onboard Intel 845 at 5-10 fps and it was terrible. Bugged my dad to get a GPU upgrade and he agreed after a while, but we found out motherboard doesn't have AGP slot. Then upgraded motherboard in GPU budget to have an ATI onboard GPU to play some games. It played Doom 3 at 15-20 fps, I beat it twice that way. Finally after I started earning, I got 9500GT, and played Doom 3 maxed out at 60 fps. That was an awesome feeling for me

+1

The feeling of running a game maxed out at a smooth frame rate is so satisfying. Especially true when you are dependent on your folks or scraping together savings from your first job to get an upgrade.

Hopefully it's properly optimized and run on available GPUs unlike Witcher 2.

Why are people hell bent on calling The Witcher 2 unoptimised, it was a damn fine engine which looked beautiful even after using Dx 9.0c at the heart of things.

I don't know how you call Witcher 2 optimized. Fine engine, but ubersampling hit fps so hard, almost makes it unplayable on max settings. Turn it on and you'll lose nearly 50% of fps.

If they are going to add ubersampling, make sure they optimize it.

Really don't want 2xTITAN/780Tis/290x to run this.

I hope your craving for next generation is enough to realise that the texture sizes and buffer sizes are required to make it look so. Don't use it if it kills your frame rates.

Unoptimised is when you have stuff like Call of Duty's MENU screen stuttering. That is unoptimised, not this.

OMG GRAPHICS :O

I hope it's properly optimized for PC this time..... :samui:

Don't use extra-next-gen-dx11-ubersampling-nVidia-fur-hair-etc. You'll be fine.

That's not the solution. =/

So Witcher 2 was perfectly optimized and performed well?

/end.

That has been the solution in PC gaming since forever and forever will be. Don't know what u were expecting, but ubersampling was for ppl who can do it, not for everyone to enjoy. You will never have a game tailor made for your particular hardware.

BTW< the new trailer absolutely rocks !

I know but seriously it is not an optimisation issue, you want HD textures on absolutely everything so better have the hardware to push it. You cannot optimise a solution.

Definitely no but by an large most issues have been removed by the time the Enhanced Edition was rolled out.

Doesn't change the fact that the game looks phenomenal on mid-range hardware of the time.

I would rather have the option to tweak something than sit with a piece of hardware that is one size fits all by inception. But let us not go there, I am happy that it is coming to everyone and you can enjoy a great looking non-Western RPG.

Is there any other game that gives better framerates with Ubersampling than Witcher 3? Heck is there any other game which uses Ubersampling?

If Witcher 3 is unoptimised due to uber sampling, then every game supporting nvidia's physx or AMD's tressFx is also unoptimized as enabling them kills the FPS.

Seriously, calling a game unoptimized for a single optional feature which is intended for high end graphics cards is absurd.
