Yup. This game ruined SP gaming for me. Nothing ever came close to its epicness. Only truly enjoyed HZD and GOW ever since I finished this few yrs back.

Must have played this for 200hrs or so. Remember so much of this game, amazing.

Btw I was playing the 1st DLC 2 yrs back. Planning to resume it soon and do the 2nd DLC as well. Have completely forgotten how the save files work or what the 1st DLC was about (think I finished just a mission) can I delete all saves and use that pre set 30 lvl character to do the DLc from scratch (ps4) or is it better if I use my base game character? Any decisions from main game matter in any of the dlc?

I just finished the base game and both the DLC's and I would strongly recommend you use your base game character instead f playing standalone DLC's. You'll get only 20k crowns and start with Lvl 30. You will need all 30k crowns just to upgrade the runewright in Hos.

In  B&W you'll need a lot of ability points to unlock all the mutagen abilities, You'll also need 15-20k crowns to renoate your estate.

Grandmaster gear unlocks at lvl 40 and is insanely expensive to craft, they've also introduced dyes for Grandmaster witcher gear which you can either buy from merchants, find by exploring or craft after finding their diagrams.

My base game character is lvl36. Booted the game yesterday. Turns out that I had done just the first mission of HoS. So watched that on YouTube and now I am good to go with my base game character.

Experiencing micro stutters when playing the game. My pc config is ryzen 1600, GTX 1050ti, 8 gb ram.

The stutters totally spoils the immersion. Did u guys experience anything similar? If so is there a fix that I should try ? Tuanks

Great ! get the manticore grandmaster armour when you reach lvl 40, and if for farming resources and making easy crowns, hit the hans bases. If you don't kill the leader they'll respawn again, easy 7-8k crowns in ne run

Started blood and wine dlc and loving every second of it. Toussaint is BEAUTIFUL and has a very different vibe from the rest of the game, boss battles are very frequent, main and side quests are amazing as expected. Its exceptional what CDPR has achieved with the first open-world game they have created. Others are still trying to catch up to this even after 5 years. The best open world game I've ever played. I simply lose sense of time while playing this game :)

This game just keeps on giving. Yesterday started with a quest to find an underwater lab, filled with portals, puzzles and environmental traps, had a decent backstory and rewards too...then to Warble of a knight smitten which went on for over an hour and felt clearly inspired from GameOT..even had a fight with a guy that looked like Mountain. Later YT'd it and there were half a dozen different possible endings for that quest...thought of ending my play session with a simple witcher contract but that went on and on with multiple layers. Between the base game, DLC1 and now DLC2..my total playtime has been 110+ hours and there is still no end to these amazing quests. Havnt been back to the main quest for over a week now. CDPR :majesty::majesty:

Was always hesitant to start this game because of the intimidating number of hours it will require. Started this again in the weekend and couldn't put the controller down for hours. What an amazing open world!! Have spent hours in White Orchard itself and would have spent many more hours there exploring every question mark but the main quest took me to a point of no return. Reached Vizima and some dude asked me many questions regarding the events that happened in previous game. Had no clue and just picked some random answers. Hopefully this will not disable some of the interesting quests. Thee is a high probability that by the time Cyberpunk is released, I might still be playing this game.

After almost an year finished the game and its two dlcs. One of the best games ever created!! Every mission, side quest, witcher contract and even most of the treasure hunts are masterfully created and have good amount of backstory and lore behind it. Spent 126 hours total playing the base game + dlcs. Havnt participated in races, fist of fury missions, dint even touched Gwent and close to hundred "?" still there on the map. Could easily spend another 20-25 hours here. The quests are written so well and have so many vastly different possible outcomes with hours of completely different gameplay segments..it gets very hard to choose at times as there are no simple right/wrong or good/bad options. True RPG!! They really went the extra mile with the quest design. I am going to spend a long time watching the different quest endings on You Tube now.

Have high hopes with Cybrpunk and will definitely be playing it eventually but I like this fantasy setting more and Witcher 4 will be a day 1 buy!!

So...

The base game is INR 449 on the PS Store as part of the summer sale. So, I bought it. I know the basic concept/story of the game (I think, based on the game description and the Netflix series that I've seen). I have seen very few videos of the combat, so basically no idea how that will be. I have played about 8-10 hours of the first Witcher game. I had enjoyed it, but due to various reasons I left the game and never went back to it. Is it still okay, or do I (absolutely) need to watch some backstory video on YT. I know the start of this game explains the basic lore about Witchers, but is there anything else that's essential to know, to enjoy the game?

I hope I enjoy this. Always wanted to try it, and the sale price made me pull the trigger. Going by the last few posts here (and based on the general praise this game gets), I think I'm in for a good experience.

Just wanted to check how many hours am I looking at if I do the story + some side-quests that come my way? Need to ensure I allot a certain time because I don't want to leave it halfway because I couldn't commit a certain time to it.

Nothing really major. You will be fine without watching anything prior to playing this.

Solid 50+ hours. If you don't rush and cover good portion of areas + side quests you are looking at 75-100+ hours of great experience.

If you end up liking the base game, get the expansions. Some of the best ones ever made. I liked it more than base game itself.

I would suggest you keep it for later if you have time constraints. Dont do "some" side quests...these arent there just for padding the game length..they are quite good and lengthy, couple of hours long sometimes and many of them will impact the main story too.

Finally got around to playing the game. Definitely gonna finish the game with expansions this time.

Playing this in 2020 doesn't do it any favors tbh. The game feels ancient in terms of gameplay and UI. The changes in music are also f**king abrupt and does flow well at all.

The character movement is really unintuitive and Geralt moves very weirdly, combat belongs to a 6/10 game and the inventory is a mess.

However I absolutely love the art style, story, characters and just the overall vibe of the world. Really well realised and I guess this what made people love the game.

Finished White Orchard and the bloody baron questline and a few other sidequests in Velen. The bloody baron questline is f**king wild and takes so many turns. I got a sh*t ending to it though and felt terrible for everyone involved.

Also can anyone guide me towards the best way of acquiring good gear? I currently equip the great with best stats but it looks terrible.

I just go for Witcher Gear.

Are you playing on PC? There are mods that might help with UI issues and such?

No bro. Console peasant here.

But you have to craft Witcher Gear, right? I don't understand crafting at all. Also next available Witcher Gear is a lot higher than my level. Cat school (I think) needs level 17 and I am 11. Guess I gotta wait for it.

The level ups in this game are super slow.
