You really wanna start that???
Witcher is a great series but please dont demean mass effect ,both these games are extremely different and rightly so.

Mass Effect is not half the Role Playing game compared to such games, period.

Dude Garrus and Liara >> Entire Witcher cast (except Triss)....Period

Can't wait.... :punk:

Absolutely...

Not really, I'd like to believe Zodak has more fight left in him than most. He just likes to be known as a troll. Keep the faith, he's browsing this thread right now.

We are with you in this fight till the end.

Liberty OR Death.

Okay, let's do this.

Agreed they're different games. But when it comes to common elements between them such as choice, I can't help but feel that The Witcher has more going for it that Mass Effect. Don't get me wrong. I'm a big ME fan and have finished the first two multiple times, on it's own it's a fine series but nowhere close when it comes to narrative or choice because ME's structure allows for binary outcomes that can be predicted.

Happy to hear sensible arguments. Trolls like Zodak, prepare to back your statements up with some logic.

I havent played witcher 1 ,so cant comment on how it effects outcomes in witcher 2,yeah i agree though that choices in me are way too simplified in sense one is

Black or white /bad or good......choices in general are not generally that simple in witcher 2 where you most of the times wont even know you are making a important choice, like choosibg a path over the other anf in that sense witcher is commendable.

But every thing has 2 sides, for me mass effect seemed to have a better cast and characters, characters that were more rememberable than in witcher 2,other than that mass effect has a more plot focused story ,in sense the plot is grander than the witcher's plot, which was more like a defined story ,well written but nothing excessive ,which in a sense is good, and i liked it,but mass effect just has that grander edge of story driven saga, which saw our protagonist starting as a simple captain to a galaxy saviour and eternal hero which is just more epic.

So

They are just 2 completely different world ,2completely different heroes,2 completely different plots only thing comparable is the choice system, which in witcher is more subtle and better done but in ME is kinda more straightforward but it doesnt mean its easy making choices in it,you may prefer one over other, but thats about you not about the game.

I presonally like both and wont choose one over other.

You tell me why you think Geralt is a better developed character than Shepard or Garrus? ....I feel more connected to Shepard than Geralt ( may be it's coz of Jennifer Hale voice ), same goes for Liara,Garrus and Wrex....

Bioware did a fantastic job in developing all main characters in the series...Same reason i liked Dragon Age Origins....It's my personal opinion...

Back up your opinion kid

hahaha ....tu bahut bada hai kyun ? tu bata... Milo....

They developed, did they?

Did any character question his / her OR the groups motive?

Was the antagonist anything better than a Xenophobic species?

How many hours have you put in witcher series??and how many in mass effect??

In the Witcher 1 I have played the game 4 times now with three distinct endings. (Say ~60 hours per run)

About The Witcher 2 I have played seven times with five distinct endings and now on my eighth play-through. (~45 hours per-run)

I ditched Mass Effect after playing the first title once, realizing it held no depth in the decision making system, even compared to BIOWARE's own Dragon Age: Origin's saga.

By the time ME 3 came and I saw the out-rage expressed at its half-baked ending, well I felt great.

Makes sense. Yes, ME has that sense of scale where you're pushed into being the galactic savior Just wished that they didn't rush the third one out. Last few levels were kinda unsatisfying. Apparently it's the same with The Witcher 2 pre-EE patch or so Spin keeps telling me.

I'm a fan of both but what bugged me with ME was the promise was bigger than the actual return (pre-game hype was huge, been following it since 2006), The Witcher on the other hand, came out of nowhere and blew my mind. I guess that's another reason...the level of anticipation versus actually having it in your PC/console and playing it. Very different for both.

Problem is The Witcher is not about saving the world OR being the best man, it is about dirty, grimy and under some conditions making the most twisted choices.

Also all DLC's and other patches with extra content for The Witcher 2 is free, sure you do not get 'epic' expansions and areas but you get some more witticism and a much more stable game after.

Mass Effect never did that to me. And that is why I ditched it, I had just come out of a high after playing The Witcher for the second time and Dragon Age: Origins + Awakening. Expected so much and got a decent one-time return.

Tried to replay the same but left it after the first quarter.

Its quite evident that you like games that are more like witcher in decision system and in that sense i cant blame you for supporting it over ME,but i still insist you give ME a 2 nd chance ,you ll like it just dont expect a witcher, and go with a blank mind not expecting anything ,you ll like i,it only gets better after me1.

I was actually fine with the ending. I mean, can't fault it when 99% of the 300+ hours spent over the course of 5 years was fun. And as for endings, TW2's (barring implications and sh*t that happens to characters) pretty much sets things up for a seemingly epic finale of a game, aside from that it was pretty so-so.

I personally liked the predictable finale in witcher 2i mean you kinda had idea what you are gonna be facing but still there were questions that needed answering ,ME was just whole another plot and story, with different implications buti stand by that ME was much more epic plot.

Maybe I will attempt it again but the first chapter is already spoilt for me and I don't want to play close to ~200 hours to arrive at the horrible ending.

Not to say all the DLC I will have to sacrifice.

There are more questions now.

Like did Upper Aedirn survive the vacuous and tumultuous months following the de-solution of Temeria and Nilfgaard's invasion. And seeing what CD PROJEKT RED has teased us with I cannot wait for their answers.

^dont worry the ending is not horrible but kinda unexpected and doesnf give you as much freedom as you may be expecting and thats about all,but it still has quite a few chices, not to say that it wont leave you emotionally distraught :D

And the only dlc worth playing is the shadow broker, which is excellent.

The coolest thing about TW2's end-game was.

When I saw that option my mind was blown.

Yep, you keep getting flashbacks and you finally realize -- "Oh S#!+! Dude is VVIP from my past. Knows about my dame."

The first Witcher's teaser ending.

Yup...btw is witcher 3 a prequel??? :scratchchin:

No final sequel in the trilogy.

They are going to stop making games in this arc for a few months then.
