^^ The video game directors voice sounded so jaded, I am not going to pre-purchase this. Let the users come out with the truth.

Game looks interesting. Still not very hyped about it.As Alpha said, not going to pre-purchase this. It's better to have patience and check the reviews.

This looks very good! didnt play AC III cause performance was very poor running only at 15 fps in Boston area

You're a lucky man. ;)

@Dylan If we compare AC IV with AC1, UBI has actually gone quite far with this game. Everything now looks much more fluid and open. The only thing that bothers me about this game right now is the story. If they will be able to pull off a good story with this character. The game itself looks beautiful. Let's just hope it has a good story and is not a bug fest like ACIII. :P

I don't think Dylan is commenting on the openness of the game.

He is comparing what the originals vision was of a assassination system with the emphasis on stealthily and quietly eliminating your target. From then on it has gradually kept accruing more and more features, all of which don't fit naturally in the game.

I think introduction of the trade mechanics and convoy system is the best example of the same.

Sure the Order needs to fund itself but sending out land convoys and trade-fleets is definitely not the best way to represent it, not to mention the atrocious 'defend this' mechanics that were tied into it.

Starting from 2 they started to ditch more & more stealthy look & went for out & out platforming/action/adventure

True, starting from Assassin's II they adopted a more flamboyant approach to the series which was helped by the character of Ezio. What went wrong after that was,

  • introduction of money making (on a large scale from Revelations onwards)
  • tower defence abomination (just for Revelations)
  • convoys and trading fleets in Assassin's III.
  • lets make it a yearly franchise and DLC's.
  • horrible PC optimisation
  • Cha... ching
  • Cha... ching

I haz teh HUNGARRRRR, feeds meh your MONIES. OM NOM NOM!

The game will most likely be good for it's pirate gameplay

Making a manga for this game WTF is the world coming to, there was just the comic right for the AC Series, now it feels like they just want to make something that will popularlize the franchise again & what a better way than a manga & then maybe a anime

Yes exactly. AC1 had a really good idea. It's a shame they had to reuse so many assets it made the game look bland. Probably time and budget restrictions. they made a new engine for it too. But the core was fantastic and its a shame they scrapped it in AC2.

Regarding AC3, that game is buggy pos. I am playing steam version now, and that mission where we signal our soldiers to take out enemy soldiers stealthily had a hilarious bug. My soldier air assassinated a dog instead of nearby enemy soldier
