Interesting tweet from VG247's editor: https://twitter.com/patlike/status/306460525422850049 The press may already know the leak is real.

Pirates of the Caribbean?? -_-

So the next AC is based on Pirates , I'm back beeches :punk: , finally a good open world pirate game , i hope Raven's Cry succeeds but Risen 2 was a bit of a let down , it's a shame being a AC game it wont have magic or huge sea creatures :(

Suggest me some pirate games if u know some...(i didn't mean pirated :fear:)

Brace for AC4 while when i haven't yet played AC3.. :samui:

Old game : Voodoo Kid (puzzle game) , then there are POC , Pirates: The Legend of Black Kat , Pirates: Legend of the Black Buccaneer , Risen 1 (maybe) , Risen 2 , Raven's Cry (coming march 2013) , One Piece games on PS2 , since you have a PS3 then One Piece Pirate Warriors 1 & 2(coming march 2013) , one piece games are of anime style , though the beat em up gameplay is very good , you should also try Pirate MMORPGs , also kingdoms of amalur had a pirate DLC

^^ One Piece is good , don't go by reviewer rating , go by user ratings , reviewers these days can't review anything properly other than AAA games , there are exceptions , like our slakerninja here who's anarchy reigns review was spot on awesome :good:

Yeah that's true..another such case was mirrors edge and inversion...reviewers just don't care.. :samui:

u can also try the monkey island series .it has been given hd lift and is totally funny

Thnx bro...will give it a try..

I wished the location would've been different

Something in more ancient times...

AC is constantly coming towards modern times..i don't think they are gonna shift to ancient times anymore.. :D

Risen has nothing to do with pirates, Risen 2 is an aberration on the same. You do nothing that pirate should do, you don't engage in epic naval battles, you don't harass convoys, no swashbuckling sabre fights, no looting and no devil may care attitude. ABSOLUTELY Nothing.

Assassin's Creed 3's naval mechanics are the best till date that I have played and the only saving grace for that gravy of a title.

It's inevitable bro

If franchises sold on their names alone then medal of honor would still be selling millions

The problem is that MoH is competing directly with Call Of Duty. Hell you can even say they're competing with EA's own Battlefield.

Assassin's Creed isn't DIRECTLY competing with any game. If you want a AAA open world game set in historic locations you don't have any choice other than AC.

The only other games that come close I can think of are RDR (came out 3 years ago, that too console only) and The Saboteur (more like AA).

Why couldn't they just call it AC: Black Flags? The '4' should actually be saved for a few years later, when the present hero has bored you to death and they need to bring in a new iteration.

Does anybody remember that this actually started out as an open world stealth game? This iswhats called a SNAFU: situation normal, all f**ked up. Final dunking of a once solid series to its watery grave.

U can say that RDR may compete with AC3 in turns of both having guns and the old america..but saboteur no way..its during ww2...the situations are completely different..

1. It's open world

2. It has a historic setting

Those are the only two fields I took into account. So Saboteur counts. If you narrow it even further, then AC will be the only game there :/ which was sort of my point
