"I actually think people will be astonished that next gen launch titles from other companies might not be much different from Crysis 3." On his company's own efforts for new hardware, Yerli added: "Crytek's projects generally will be way above what we've achieved on the existing consoles." Yerli also praised the work his team has done creating what he believes is a unique game world. "Crysis 3 has its own visual identity, [the urban rainforest] is a world that hasn't been done before, that kind of depiction, the quality and level of immersion. I think no game has ever done that kind of setting, it's a visual spectacle. "It has not even been done in Hollywood. People might suggest there are similarities with I Am Legend, but that is quite different to this. I Am Legend is overgrown, but Crysis 3's urban rainforest is a whole different level of that. Aftrunner Posted February 9, 2013 Report Share Posted February 9, 2013 If the first 2-3 years of next gen look like Crysis 3 on PC does then I am happy with it. The game pretty much destroys anything out there graphically. Maybe Metro will be a close second but Metro is more corridors and Crysis is more about (kind of) open areas. LOL @ the people who think he means Crysis 3 on current consoles. Double LOL @ people who think that anything compares to the game graphically on the PC. AtheK Posted February 9, 2013 Report Share Posted February 9, 2013 I played it on both PS3 and PC, and i think crytek has done a good job on PS3 too, ya there are the frame drops, but nothing like it is not playable, and gameplay is pretty close to PC experience. Big Boss Posted February 9, 2013 Report Share Posted February 9, 2013 Yeah I beat Crysis 2 on PS3, it was a solid shooter, dumbed down compared to Warhead and 1st but still pretty good. Looked nice as well. Crysis 2 PC just blows it away graphically when played on DX 11 and HD textures. If next gen gives Crysis 2 PC like graphics at 60 fps on full HD, I will be overjoyed. Consol or pc Bioshock, Witcher 2, Mass Effect, Portal 2,Mass Effect 2, Uncharted 2, Infamous, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Skyward Sword, Halo 3, Arkham City, Dishonored and countless more games disagree with you.
