yes i don't like 30fps in racing and fighting games but looks like these weak consoles can't handle 60fps @ 1080p with all the crazy weather effects nd all...

 

I always prefer sub-1080p resolution @ 60fps over 1080p30fps but that's just me...:P

I wonder what stops console game devs to offer a few choices of resolution/fps in game settings like on PC?

Because console is a fixed hardware....everyone who owns that console has same specs.

Devs develop game with best optimization possible according to that spec ...on pc they can be flexible as it depends from system to system.

But if a game could run natively at multiple resolutions like on PC instead of changing resolution from console display settings, it would give a big boost to fps when playing at, say, 720p. That way everyone would be happy: both people willing to sacrifice eye-candy for fps(they can play at 720p) and those who aren't(1080p for them). Or my thinking is completely senseless?
