Pachter wants publishers to start charging $70 per AAA game

It's funny the amount you guys deride EA, yet most of you will gladly bend over and pay whatever they ask for to get your fix of FIFA, NFS etc.

No me only buy Crysis, and BF games. The main reason for it is the qulaity games that both Crytek, and Dice bring, not related much to EA's efforts.

Haven't ever bought a FIFA game and last NFS fame I bought was carbon...

The only EA game I play ( and love) is battlefield. I will pay anything for battlefield.

didnt 'ye olde' games cost around 80-90 usd back before the days of playstation ? granted it was for a select few high quality titles, but it has the same logic that this guy is saying. premium price for highly in demand game. not saying it should be done but it has been done before, and that is w/o accounting for the inflation.

Yup you guys just proved my point.

I don't hate EA, DICE is boss, admit it yet they publish for studios like CryTek, DICE and BioWare.

These studios are exceptional and it's not easy to avoid their games.

Not bought Crysis since Warhead, not bought BattleField and definitely not going to purchase any Mass Effect / Dragon Age titles unless the experience is revamped and the old crowd certifies their RPG-ness.

It is rather easy with games being sacrificed on the altar of profits, latest example this --

^^ BIOWARE has no history with this game and yet are supposedly developing this F2P, P2 Continue model based title + micro-transactions.

Nobody will vote with their wallet for games they want to play or like(just proves the companies' point). People will only bash pricing/DLC policies of games they dont like(Which doesnt matter at all to the company).

Where did Activision go? :P

Nobody compares to EA. They have been focussed on money throughout the history of gaming. I dont mind pricing or DLC thats left to players to decide. But sh*t like buying out the competition is just a fukin low blow. Since when did gaming become about whos got more money rather than whos got more talent.

Dont forget that 80$ back in the 90s is worth ALOT more than 80$ today.

It was part of a sharing group, I paid only 500.

By that logic I haven't bought fifa either :P neither have you bought crysis or your beloved bf series!

If not for the online pass bullshit I would have bought the disc.

3500 for each game :suicide:

More & more ppl will jump to online gaming

EA have already made their standard pricing to 3k...so i won't be surprised if it crosses to 3.5k..I only prey that if only they manufacture the disks locally as in the case of pc games..
