7950 on an unknown brand PSU? You should have at least searched for that brand once in Google before assembling, as all your expensive components depend on it.

These are your options, if you do not get them local, flipkart them or other online hardware retailer, no point spending money on things that won't resolve the issue --

  • Corsair TX v2650W ~5800/-
  • Seasonic S12II 620W ~5200/-
  • Antec VP650W ~5000/-

Hope this helps, Cheerio!

BTW, I may be selling my Corsair TX650V2 in a couple of days if a certain thing works out. Not sure though, so don't count on me atm.

Why? Can I be so bold to enquire.

Why? Can I be so bold to enquire.

As you know, there is an old 7950 in the almirah, which Amazon so graciously replaced without even requiring me to return it. And I still believe that it didn't have any major problems, just that it couldn't receive the sudden large burst of current from the PSU needed while booting most of the times(I hope this non-technical statement is technically correct), but once it did boot, it worked flawlessly(hence the reason for my suspicion of it being not a very bad piece, but you know all this story from my earlier posts). Now, ever since I got my replacement, I've been using it flawlessly, and have been thinking of trying the old one as a second GPU in crossfire mode(I am thinking that the first GPU will take most of the load while startup, and so the second, slightly faulty, GPU should work fine in this setting, as it has always worked fine, once booted. I'm not sure though about how this crossfire thing works theoretically.). If it works in crossfire, then I'll sell the current 650v2 for an 850v2 to support crossfire properly. I'm planning to experiment with this within the next couple of days, hence that post.

bhaiya is corsair's 550 watts enough ?

Not a VS550W. Please avoid the VS series as well because they are exclusive to Indian / Chinese markets thus no idea what components are put inside them and definitely no reviews on the same.

Told you already, not to compromise if you cannot source the components locally look for them in flipkart (but prepare to be ripped off) OR some other e-retailer. Baseline minimum for your requirements --

  • Seasonic S12II 520W

Best bet for your needs --

  • Seasonic S12II 620W
  • Corsair TX v2650W

And please stop this bhaiya-ji attitude.

Hope this helps, Cheerio!
