Sarath
Trust me, if you were to replace your wife with any other women (no offense intended), you would still be posted this thread. (in all of the parallel universes too) And I say this without even being married myself. My gf has given me a clear picture of how life is going to be for the next 50-70 years. BTW your wife is not entirely wrong. If a sedentary male/female were to consume a lot of high sugar or any substance with a high glycemic index for a prolonged period, especially those who are genetically / hereditarily predisposed to type-2 diabetes, then consuming a lot of it can cause an early onset of T2 Diabetes. Just how many youngsters in their 20s are getting affected by the same. Especially gamers are at a huge risk. Central obesity, irregular diet (insulin challenge), high sugar intake and a very sedentary lifestyle, they all are a big reason to worry.

Couldn't have said it better than this The trick is - Everything in Moderation. If you substitute Pepsi or any kind of aerated high-in-sugar drink with water, something MIGHT go wrong with your body. Hell, diabetes would be the least of your problems If you stop drinking water and completely substitute it with Pepsi, then it's bound to cause problem. Same goes for alcohol. That's common knowledge. Why do you think they tell athletes to drink Gatorade. Coz it's good for them (won't elaborate here) but still they can't completely substitute it for water. My wife knows we don't drink "cold drinks" quite often. Hell, I would say I barely get 2 glasses of Thumps Up in a month or two, but completely boycotting it out of our lives is absurd. Period. also gatorade =/= pepsi. check their sugar contents. moreover athletes need calories cause of their work. google micheal phelp's diet, it was something around 12000 calories a day when he trains seriously, yet no pepsi or allied sodas were involved. jeebus wept after your post man. Dude, am not justifying anything. All am saying is people can be really stupid sometimes. They hear a rumor and start accepting it as fact without even using their tiny little brains I know this coz I see them everyday in my life, my in-laws for example. I just leave them at their fate. You don't wanna get into an argument with them Also, the only reason I said that was coz people were starting to believe pepsi = diabetes. That's so not true. Simple as that. I actually wanted to have a good laugh out of this, hearing people's stories of similar experiences

The Wolfy among us
No one's heard of bovonto and kalimark? But Gold spot was my most favorite drink. Much better than the sh*t we get today.
Ram Dante
Bovonto is awesome, but I believe it's only available in TN. And yes Torino, is the best when it comes to orange soft drinks. I used to drink that like crazy when I used to visit my granma's place in Madurai, those days P.S. Gold Spot is gold spot, a drink and not g-spot.
