Next-Generation Features Showcased At GTC2013

Recommended Posts

During this year’s GTC2013, Nvidia showcased some truly amazing
features that might be coming to the next-generation titles. Among to
those features were some stunning ocean simulation physics
and FaceWorks, a technique that has been used to render and animate a
human head with incredible image fidelity. According to Nvidia, the data
from Debevec’s team exceeded 32 gigabytes for a few expressions of Ira
(the man who was rendered) and as a result of that, even the most
advanced GPUs will choke on the immensity of that. FaceWorks reduced
this to a very manageable 300 megabytes. Debevec’s tech demo was running
in real-time on a single Nvidia Titan card. You can view a video from
that demonstration below, courtesy of YouTube’s ‘Ubergizmo’. Enjoy!

And all of this is proprietary. Do it nVidia.

yea...nvidia does lot of work on these than AMD...they only come up with hair thing by now..whereas nvidia if i am right has some really good tech ..

Tressfx is cool though.

In any case the titan like card which cost around $1000 ....kaun lega itna mahenga card...by the time that card is affordable it will be long time...2-3 years easily...all this is just show bazzi for future. it is just to show us what kinda of graphics wala game our beta beti will get .

All of which is proprietary. nVidia has been at this for the past ~6 years now (little earlier than Vista outed).

Tressfx is cool though.

And open, it will not catch up because of the COMPUTE penalty for now.

Maybe future generation iterations of Tress FX will have a wider gamut of simulated features, like leafs and wind affecting foliage and greenery in the environment around you. And graphic cards that can handle this.

More on AMD's plan for physical simulation in gaming via COMPUTE performance of graphic cards --> AMD Talks GPU Gaming physics.

I seriously doubt that, technology has a way of regurgitating its successors at a blistering pace. If it took six years for nVidia to go from Ageia physics cards to integrate them on every mid-range GPU, it might take them just three to push all these TITANIC features onto a mid-range card.
