The Supernatural Thread

Yajurved & Ayurved are a must read if someone wishes to research on such topics, it is believed in scholarly circles that yajurved became the primary religious text of people who moved into forests when aryan civilisation expanded in India. The descendants of these people are today referred to as Scheduled Tribes.

Food for thought :- These people were called for whenever some kind of disease would trouble someone, they used to chant Mantar from Yajurveda and perform ceremonies according to Yajurved using suitable plants & trees mentioned in Ayurved to make a person healthier, but chicken pox was one such disease that eluded their rituals, and hence they called it the "mother of all diseases", known as Mata in contemporary times.

Excavations of Harappan civilisation have come across multiple graves, so it is believed that Burning of bodies hadn't started by then. After the Vedic age people became concious of the spiritual side of their beings and hence burning of bodies was recommended by following spiritual texts which is still prevalent to this day.

Advent of Islamist culture led to ushering in of a contemporary new culture (not new but since Harappan culture had been extinct for ages, it seemed new) where bodies were not burned to ashes but were buried, they also bought with them their own culture of recitation of Kalaams (Mantars) & herbs found in their part of the world (middle-eastern asia), known as 'illam", this was also used for medicinal purposes and many a documentaries exist of these people still doing what their ancestors did, a recent one i watched was in HD, now when these two cultures mixed, they gave rise to another spiritual branch which is known as "Black Magic" of contemporary times. It is a mixture of negative aspects of both these cultures packed into one branch, and hence the destructive effects that are related to it's use on persons it is used on as well as on the person who is using it.

Now the question arises, then why would a person do this if he knows it can affect him as well ?

The answer lies in our everyday life, everyone of us do certain things even though we know that in the long run they are not good for us, but just because they give us that power over others, even if it is for a split second, we become addicted to it, same is with those associated with this branch, they are addicted just like a person is addicted to cigarette smoking and cannot stop even if he knows it will eventually cause him lung cancer.

I cannot really comment on black magic. Like everything else that does not have a proof yet, it may exist. It may not.

But could not sleep till pretty late last night. Everytime I closed my eyes that boy from Sunil's video turned his head. I wish sometimes I could un-see what I have seen.

Another question that arises is what were the negative aspects, and that the term is very vague?

The answer I have been able to find out is that one aspect of their healing process included concenteration of positive energy to use it in the healing process. Ancient Indians used the positive energy of certain plants, animals etc and just the way positive energy could be concenterated by them, the same concept was applied to negative energy & different methods were discovered to harness this negative energy and use it to cause harm to others whose own positive energy is not strong. The burial grounds or Kabristan became a breeding ground for these kind of experiments, as according to Islam, rebirth is considered a myth and every follower is told in the Sharia Laws to do good things in his present life and when the day of reckoning will come, accoridng to their deeds, Israel (known as Kalki in India) will pardon the good ones and punish the bad ones, now this thought is a very integral part of all the 4 religions which originated in the mediterranean region. ( Parsis, Judaism, Christianity, Islam )

All the 4 religions that originated in Indian sub-continent ( Sanatan, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism) do not share the same view, the concept of rebirth & Karma theory is a very integral part of these religions.

Every one knows how many of us do good deeds, so with the majority being bad rotten apples, for followers of Indian born religions the bodies were destroyed and ashes thrown into river, hence the souls (negative or positive) did not have a pet place to stay, whereas in the case of burials, the negative energy was available for harnessing , this is the reason why bodies till date are burned and not buried by followers of Indian born religions. The Upanishads throw a lot of light on this concept & why it is necessary that a body be burnt and not buried.

The concept of energy can be well understood from +2 physics book, and since we don't know till date what is behind the creation of any type of energy, and even the "God Damn particle" has been unable to explain the concept, I can't comment on it as well.

Love = Ultimate positive emotion' Hate = Ultimate negative emotion ; similarly

Positive emotions Negative emotions

Courage Fear

Happiness Sadness/Gloomy

Empathy Jealousy

and so on and so forth ... the same is with plants, some plants stimulate positive emotions, and sometimes these border on extreme happiness, e'g seeing big beautiful roses blooming in the hundreds, whereas some plants, flowers stimulate negative emotions e.g 'Taadi' which is used to make alcohol and is disgusting to look at, all this was explained in Ayurved and their medicinal properties were the centre of attention.

Seriously guys ? Thread was fun to start with, but this black magic nonsense is pretty lame. Have run over apparently *tantrik* nimboos, pots and what not a number of times. If you don't believe in it, nothing will happen. Else every small misfortune will get associated with it.

+1  this thread is getting stupid now.

^^ Saw the video and I think it was a normal kid. What he was doing there naked?

Now
even I get it, he was having his happy time and must have gotten scared
when we spotted him, when we asked questions he must have become
speechless and oly slightly turned hi head towards us, indicating us to
leave.
I will have to install a new signboard in the plantation now, in awadhi language

"Bagiya mein hilana mana hai"

^^ THIS. But why would he climb a tree for that? :P

Also on thread getting illogical, every person has a different view based on his experiences. I mean knowing Shantz you would not say that he was being illogical about his story. It is logical to a person as far as he is willing to believe. After that it becomes illogical. One just needs to know that everybody has a different threshhold.

I know it is cool to bash the video but truth is there is no logical reason for a kid to sit naked on a tree in the middle of a night and not run away when people approach it. sent using Tapatalk

So maybe the kid is not of mentally sound mind. Why jump to conclusions and say it's a ghost or anything supernatural? I see crazy people on the street everyday. Beggars who talk to themselves, who go around shouting at the air. Are they all ghosts?

Maybe the kid was raised in a remote area and thinks that climbing trees at night is normal? Maybe he's used to it and comfortable with it. Something urban kids like us might find strange but perfectly normal to him.

Maybe he heard GS and his friends coming and was hoping they just pass by without noticing him? Maybe he doesn't care about whether they notice him or not.

Maybe he's playing a prank of these guys for some reason.

There's nothing supernatural about that video. It's creepy as f**k I'll give you that.

Could be a very mentally disturbed kid. But he would definitely have a lot many places to be all alone in a village at night then top of a tree. And in villages people know all abku each other. Such a kid would have been common knowledge.

That video gave me the chills, alright! But a lot of horror movies did the same..

I vote "Mentally ill kid"

People who think it's paranormal, can vote otherwise. Let's put some numbers and see how many people here can think rationally. :P

You say people shouldn't jump to conclusions but then at the end of the comment you yourself jump to a conclusion saying that there's nothing supernatural about that video. How can you be sure about that?

And there seems to be 3 popular opinions about the kid in the video :-

A. Something supernatural

B. Mentally disturbed kid.

C. Someone playing a prank on the group who is shooting the video.

I personally would say considering the way video is shot & the way that kid looks back option C seems most unlikely to me.

My most preferred choice seems to be A(even though I myself don't believe in such stuff) assuming the video isn't a well staged prank by the guy who shot the video.

It's a kid. In a tree.

Granted, at an untimely hour. There's nothing 'supernatural' about that.

It's odd. It's strange. It's creepy. It's weird. It's scary. It's not supernatural. You know what would have been supernatural? Had he suddenly disappeared. Had he started floating.

And FYI, I'm not jumping to conclusions - Wouldn't you agree the best way to be rational about a strange event is to take a stand of normalcy and then work from there? That's what I was doing. Everything is normal unless proven otherwise. 'That was a ghost' is such a far-reaching conclusion. Is it possible? Maybe. But only after cancelling out every other possibility. In this case we don't seem to have enough information to say it's anything supernatural or paranormal. It's just weird.

I really hoped this thread wouldn't degenerate into this. Posting a creepy story from /r/nosleep to help get it back on track.

Chatroullete

From time to time I find myself killing some time on Chatroulette. It is not something I do because I extremely enjoy to, but because It's the only way I can find to socialize with people without leaving the comfort of my home. I have a roommate, a really cool guy, But unfortunately his mom is very sick, so he's visiting his family for the next couple months.

One day, after getting back home, I sat down on my bed and opened up my laptop so I could browse the web a little. Didn't take long until I was, once again, on Chatroulette trying to filter all those pervs so I could have a decent conversation with someone. That's when this girl appeared on my screen. She looked like she was crying, but she had her hand on her mouth, trying to keep herself from making any noise. I was about to skip her, I imagined I was about to be pranked and end up on some youtube video, but she started typing. -Please, please help

I asked her what was happening. She quickly replied that she needed me to call 911 for her, she had entered her house to find that someone had broken in. She slowly backed away and hid inside her closet. She tried calling 911 herself but her phone was dead, so she grabbed her laptop, which was in her backpack and the first page that opened was from Chatroulette and I was the person that she connected to. I didn't know what to do, I could be the victim of a prank, but what if this girl really needed my help? I decided to call 911, but before anything I asked her for her name and address. She said her Name was Linda, while she was typing her address I was already unlocking my phone so I could call 911, and then, she pressed enter. My eyes started watering. the address she had sent me was MY address.

I felt a chill running down my spine, I felt weak and accidentally dropped my phone. Words cannot describe what I felt when the sound of my phone smashing against the floor, came from the speakers of my laptop. I just stood there, looking at her. She was begging for me to call them. About 2 or 3 minutes later I decided I had to do something about this.I moved towards my closet, carrying my laptop on my hand. When I opened it, nothing was there, but the girl was still on the webcam, crying. I went to my roommate's room. I could hear my footsteps coming from the laptop. I decided this was it, I ran straight to it and opened it in one quick move.A scream came from inside the closet. I kept my eyes on the girl at all times, but when I opened the door a glare blocked the view and she disconnected. There was nothing inside the closet.

I ran out of there in the same instant.I ran as far as I could. I felt like there was something chasing me. I kept hearing that same scream on my head over and over, I was getting fatigued but I couldn't stop.... I wouldn't stop
