Was he a sardarji too?I don't really remember now. Might have been but most probably it was one of the peer baba guys.BTW, one more thing that has happened to me/in front of me when I was young. (I'm a store house of weird things, ain't I :/)So, this hypnotism thing. Well, It was summer holidays and morning time. I was standing outside our house with my mum chatting with a neighbor. Then she saw a couple of ladies pass by carrying some decoration items like things made out of sea shells. She stopped them thinking to buy some. The neighbor went inside though. The ladies started showing the stuff to my mum and then casually asked where is she from. She told her and then they said amongst themselves "ye to hamare mulak ki hai" (i.e. identifying that they are from the same general native area). They started a bit of casual chat and then told her they have a very good oil for feet so that my mum can use if she gets tired and before she could react, they applied a bit to her feet.Hell broke lose after that. One of the ladies immediately said that she was in some problem and needs some money. My mother went inside and brought back around 1.5k and gave to her without saying anything (that was all she had at that time and later she told me that she couldn't find the iron safe's key, otherwise might have been much bigger). Other lady then said that her daughter is getting married so can she borrow some gold ornaments (my mother went inside again but again couldn't find keys). They started asking for random sh*t. Food, clothes, other items. My mum told me to hold her hand and be with her but kept giving them things. And then those ladies left after an hour or so. I was too stunned to even say anything. Once they left, my mother started shivering and then started crying. She didn't say anything till dad came back from office and then said that at first she didn't even know what was happening (kind of blacked out/wiped out from her memory and I had to tell her what happened) and later she came to know that she was giving out stuff but couldn't control herself at all.

Probably your mom was drugged.. These kind of drugs they break wills.. Once under influence you just do whatever others say. Without questioning or thinking about its outcome.

Good they didn't ask we want that kid :-P else our Shantz would be selling oil somewhere :-P

Yeah but gets me thinking is how were they able to influence her by just rubbing something on her feet. She didn't inhale/eat/drink anything. And all of this happened like instantly. Maybe they used a needle or something to inject something while rubbing the oil but we didn't find any marks.

Even if it is true, I'm scared to think that such a thing exists that can make you do anything just by using some drug and that the drug is commonly available to petty con people like those ladies.

There is another theory which talks about methane gas under sea beds.. Which causes the propellers to stop because it doesn't get enough oxygen etc.. Its a documentary by history channel..

Well that is because we are carbon based life forms and life is possible because of carbons ability form long chains , everyone knows that. A climate similar to ours is also necessary as most of these carbon macromolecules can't survive at temperatures much higher or lower than ours .

 

Though oxygen is necessary, concentration of other gases may vary , some which are toxic to us might not be toxic for them .

Its based on simple biology , not the path but chemically impossible, no other element holds the capability to do such things .

 

If matter is similar all around the universe then this theory is also true.

It is chemically impossible based on our current knowledge of elements. There will mostly be a number of elements we do not know. Heck we are still getting to know new elements on earth. You talk like we know all the elememts in the universe

Yep, all the combustion based engines require oxygen to maintain combustion. But from what I had seen in discovery/national geo a while back was that the gases also reduce the buyoancy of the ship, which causes them to sink.

Now here is another story.

My uncle (Mama Ji) told us about this incident once.

 

My uncle works in PWD (Aligarh) and his office is in the same premise as of the PWD Employees' Apartments (those yellow quarters with 1BHK).

 

So there was this new guy in his office who got the job of a Babu (clerk I guess), and he was also given a flat in the colony with the rest of the PWD employees.

 

 

This guy lived there for about 3 months and nothing happened. But on one Wednesday, two of his friends (from his village) came to spend the night at his flat. Both of them (the friends) had an interview for a post in the railways on Friday and so they came to stay at his place. The guy slept in his room while the friends made their beds on the hall's floor.

 

La that night, my uncle's colleague heard some noise in the hall. He raised his head and saw a figure going from the hall into the kitchen. He thought it was one of his friends going to the kitchen to have some snacks. He cursed him for breaking his sleep and went back to his pillow.

 

In the morning the guy casually asked his friends about last night. To this, both of them replied that they never got up from their beds.

Though they admitted hearing the noises and seeing a figure in the kitchen. Leaving everyone baffled, the guy left for his job.

 

That day, the guy was invited by some colleagues in the office (including my uncle) for a wedding.

So he didnt go home and left for the wedding venue from the office. He informed the friends that he wont be home and they should eat without him.

 

Around 2AM the guy (still at the wedding) received a call from one of his friends. The person on the other end was baffled and he asked the guy to come home IMMEDIATELY.

 

The guy (drunk) took my uncle's scooter and reached his flat where he saw both his friends sitting in the hall with their bags packed. He asked them what the matter was and they told him that they would stay anywhere but in this house. On asking what happened they told him the following;

 

"We were sleeping quietly after dinner when we again heard some commotion in the kitchen. We clearly saw someone inside and it seemed that person was looking for something. We didnt move and didnt get up when suddenly, a guy came out of the kitchen with blood all over his head as if he was in an accident.

 

He came straight to us and said in a frantic manner, "Get up.. get up and lets go to the office. I think I left my wallet there.". That folk looked really worried and he didnt even wait for an answer from us. He then got up and went straight back to the kitchen.

 

We both waited in our beds (shivering with fear) for something to happen, but nothing happened."

 

 

 

My uncle's colleague went into the kitchen and all the stuff was in a mess as if somebody turned it all upside down.

He insisted his friends to stay, but they didnt sleep the whole night. As the morning came, they took their bags and left.

 

When the guy told about it at the office, he was told that the guy who lived in that quarter before him, died in a road accident.

That guy still lives in that flat but had seen/experienced nothing since then.

Umm no , by the current model of the atom we have devised we know most elements and have guessed most others theoretically, and the model we have today is pretty accurate based on trial and error , there is rarely anything it can't explain . You can argue all you want about different kinds of matter but no other kind of matter has been found yet and the chances of something like that existing are slim .

 

 

Also , you guys can say whatever you want but the scientists aren't idiots , thousands have spent their whole live working on this .

I have seen these shows off and on but I am kinda put off by them trying to measure things. I mean we can't really measure everything can we ? Can you measure coldness, darkness. No. The absence of heat is cold. Absence of light is dark. There are a number of things we cant be sire of still we disregard them. That to me is arrogance. Also continuing what Shantz posted on Aliens. We are not even sure of what exists on Earth. How can we be sure of what exists outside. To Nemo, if Aliens are really powerful then why would they come here. Well the same reason we clear trees for. For more space. More resources. We in all sanity are much advanced than the monkeys. Still we go to their home. The jungles. Because we want theit place. We try to teach monkeys to communicate to act intelligently. We experiment on them. That's assuming that they are a similar life form in need of resources important to us. It might be that our world was totally useless to that life form. Or, they're just oblivious and couldn't care less about anyone else. Or, even though they're advanced, they haven't the means to reach us.

Of course. I only wanted to say that just because they are advanced does not necessarily mean that they would have no interest in us. They may, they may not. Both are possible.
