hatlessgovi
alright, so ps3 and xbox seem old now, decided that i should finally get a graphics card for my pc that has pretty decent other stuff. i prefer nVidia, and the card should be around 15k. my specs are intel core i7 2600(or 2600k not sure) @ 3.4 Ghz 8 GB Corsair DDRsomething Asus Gaming motherboard 1 TB hard disk 22'' LED monitor. recommend a graphics card for around 15k. i know the way i've described the specs without any details is a bit noobish but i haven't played on pc in years. time to go back. thanks in advance
ALPHA17
Go for either of these graphic cards -- GIGABYTE GTX660Ti 2 GB Sapphire / MSi HD7870 2 GB Which SMPS do you have currently? If you don't have a proper SMPS (or you have a local one), I suggest you get an SMPS plus the graphic card -- Seasonic S12II 520W Antec VP550W Hope this helps, Cheerio! Heaven Angel
Was going to suggest 660Ti as well..but it's not 15K in India.. or I'm looking at derp online store.
ALPHA17
Was going to suggest 660Ti as well..but it's not 15K in India. It retails for ~20000/- nominally online, best deals off-line (street) would be ~19000/-. The GTX660 2 GB retails for ~15000/- and the AMD HD7870 2 GB ~16500/- -->18000/- (these are on-street). hatlessgovi
ok i checked my bill, i have cooler master 600W SMPS. is that good enough?
ALPHA17
ok i checked my bill, i have cooler master 600W SMPS. is that good enough? Yes and no. Yes because technically the SMPS should be able to power the graphic card. No because the Cooler Master eXtreme / eXtreme II / Thunder series designs are so archaic that it is definitely not risk-free putting such expensive and power hungry components on it. I would suggest you go for a Seasonic S12 520W and then plan on getting a graphic card.

The GTX660 2 GB or AMD HD7870 2 GB should be your aim, SMPS is the Seasonic S12II 520W. As of now the GTX660 / 660Ti are holding up remarkably well even after the 192-bit bus for over 2 GB of V-RAM, for 1080p this should be more than enough but as time passes the performance will degrade, especially in the light of the newer generation of consoles that are being outed. GTX660 2 GB vs. AMD HD7870 2 GB / GTX660 2 GB vs. GTX560 1 GB. The GTX560 is a generation older, both cards completely outperform the same. Hope this helps, Cheerio!
