Bird Bird Bird
H dude, H ! And yeah, already seen Yes Minister a couple of years after Ji mantriji. Fantastic stuff, though I preferred the Indian one because of the Indian politics.
Spacescreamer
Any place where Ji Mantriji's ep can be viewed? Two actors which i really remembered from the bygone era were Benjamin Gilani and Jayant Kripalani. The latter used to appear in Hajmola ad, claded in White Kurta Pyjama and all black hair back then Anybody remeber the first introduction to Jap Anime via... wait for it.. Taro the dragon boy!! Gulzar's lyrics still resonates from this one as well as 'Guchcha' program.
pinkmonster
Hahaha Aahat. Hum logon ki physics teacher ka naam Preet maam tha. jab bhi blackboard ki taraf mudti thi, hum sab aahat ki woh wali awaaz nikaalte the. She would get spooked and would ask who was making that noise. All of us would put on our innocent faces and pretend we never even heard any noise and were busy studying. She thought she was losing it. So much fun!

kemosabe
When I was 14, I was not yet introduced to the world of computer (other than the Essay about computer) but I got my hands with a Video game console( SNES/NES chinese clone) from one of our relative who he gave to us as his kids were very addicted to it. Me and my papa used to play the Mario clone like anything. I used to draw and create my own superheroes and used to read hindi comics

praveer
When I was 14 - I used to be a one of those kids you see from a strict uptight family. Uttering even a single swear words no matter how minor or being around people who spoke like that was seen as embarrassing and I used to only dress in full sleeved shirts and pleated trousers. - Video games were only available to me during summer holidays - Used to have a time table for TV, studies, sleeping and playing with friends that I had to follow. - Didn't even have cable television for a couple of years, so had to wait for the Sunday 4pm cartoon show on national channel. Now that I think of it I had an incredibly strict upbringing, no wonder I wasn't very good with talking to girls, let alone having a Girlfriend. Tyler
Nice thread Shantz! 14-15 were some of the best years of my life. So many memories. The 90s was an amazing decade (but then again most people will say that for the one they grew up in). This was a time when computers and internet were a thing of the distant future. So yeah let's see... off the top of my head... - Playing cricket out in the hot May sun without giving a damn! - Having crushes in school and trying to study at the same time. If you weren't linked to girl you were deemed a loser lol. - Cable TV was all the rage! Star Plus (when it was an english channel), MTV, WWE (WWF back then), The Crystal Maze, Force Five, Philips Top Ten, Zee Horror Show... - G.I. Joe action figures. - Renting VHS movies from the local video library (with parental guidance of course). - Board games for when we were forced indoors by parents - Scrabble, Monopoly (or it's desi version - Businessmen), Chess. - Collecting WWF cards (a.k.a trump cards). - Trading comics with friends. - Surprisingly video games were actually a strict no-no. Once in a while my parents used to rent a Nintendo or a PS2 (usually in summer vacations). There's so much more.... damn. I'm sitting here grinning like an idiot and my wife has no idea what's happening....

Those G I Joe vehicles were damn good. ^^ The crystal maze That taklu was something... true still remember the one game where they had to guide a RC car through a glass maze, man I so wished I had a RC car that time. PS: my mind kept telling me to write 'an' RC car instead of 'a' RC car, dunno why Edit, I think it should be an RC car since it sounds like 'AAAR' - not sure though
Nemo
@ Avkash. you are right. go with phonetics when in doubt. on topic. i never had a proper crush and link up in school as due to dad's transferable job i had to move around. i had 7 different schools in my 12 years and stability only in later boards years and by that time you are focussed (or are supposed to) on studies and any romantic pair up in high school (11-12) is more gossip and name-shaming than innocent fun anyway. so yeah, kind of missed out on that aspect. a big reason it took a while for me to be confident in talking to girls. Somebody
PS: my mind kept telling me to write 'an' RC car instead of 'a' RC car, dunno why Edit, I think it should be an RC car since it sounds like 'AAAR' - not sure though Both 'a' and 'an' are fine. It just depends on how you read it. If you expand the abbreviation when you're reading it, it'll be 'a', like "... guide a Remote Controller car...", but if you read the short-form as it is, then it'll be 'an RC car' obviously, because it sounds like you are saying 'aar cee car' . btw, Crystal Maze Also... I used to love that Temple of Doom or whatever show on nickelodeon where they had kids perform tasks in teams, and then go through a maze kinda thing in the end.
