That news made my day

I just hope they get the authentic looks of Bengal in the movie.

Sushant, i dont think is a very good choice.. but he is a brilliant actor, and with a bengali director.. there is potential to surprise people.

Rajit Kapoor and his sidekick (KK Raina) did a fantastic job. But the authentic touch cant be overlooked. Hoping for the best def :)

  • 4 weeks later...

Was 14 in the year 1999, in years before that (10-14) things i remember are Crystal Maze, Mario, Contra, WWF ( UNDERTAKER ), NBA Playoffs (Bulls - Michael Jordon), my cannon barrel bicycle, Fashion TV debut in INDIA, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Nagraj, Dhruv (comics), Basketball, street cricket (breaking window panes of people living in street), RamLila, powercuts during night (watching star studded sky when sleeping on roof suring such powercuts) ...

Ya.. True.

I miss my summer vacation. That was the time spent with my grandparents. Days spent reading comics- Tinkle, Chanda Mama, Champak, Chacha Chowdhery, Suman Sourabh, and Enid Blyton. Kulfi in the night, stories and often horror stories shared on the roof, under the stars.. Waking up to the twitter twitter of birds.. What days!

Shopping in "New Market" ( no malls then!). The shopkeeper used to know our names, offer us frooti! And then awesome treat of chaat followed by falooda.

These are some simple joys of childhood that my kids would never know.

^ How can you not mention Madhu Muskan, Lotpot and Nandan.. the humble yet awesomely good magazines for kids?

There was this another magazine which came out for Teens, aptly named as Teens Today. Was very good. PIMCEE was another one.

I hope this ad will bring out memories.. (leave the cheesiness aside, take a look at the tetra pack)

And ofc Fido Dido

Our kids will be saying couple of decade from now, "My kids will never be able to experience holding a controller and playing a game in the front of a TV"

Joys are very subjective man.

I know, but simple things like the ones Megz mentioned are not to be found anywhere, simplicity is not fun anymore, if you don't speak dude-bro language and prefer dosa to pizza/pasta or kulfi to ice-cream then you are not cool.

sad indeed.
