Nemo
Looking at all the above posts life has been really easy for my generation. yeah wait until your kids get 3D holographic telecommunication and robot maids. That will be the generation in terms of comfort, as the one after that will undoubtedly resemble terminator universe.

Bird Bird Bird
Not to forget sneaking Raj Comics under shirts and trousers. Then stashing them some place where you parents won't see them. And reading them by the torchlight under cloaks. I think we were the luckiest gen alive (80s-early 90s), having witnessed the turn of a century with such amazing inventions ! DishuBOSS
^ Rep quota is over.. but still.. +1 !!! Used to hide the comic books from my parents.. they always said, "Haan ye comics aur cartoon hi kama kar khilayenge na tujhe??" Mom ki jeebh par Saraswati baithi hui thi tab.. avkash
May I used to rent Comics back then, Re 1 for each book for a day, fun times. I loved drawing, like LOVED sketching. I used to read the comics and then used to sketch the panes looking at them in the time after that. Epic times

Django_3101
1. Back then, I was into cricket, 2 hours in morning and 3 hours in the evening. Daily arguments with aunties and uncles for breaking window panes. 2. I used to be very afraid of darkness and there were frequent power cuts during the night in summers. Everyone used to gather outside. I was always asked to bring water from the kitchen which was like last room in our house. I used to run like anything 3. Believe it or not, I heard my first english album "Dangerous" 4. I was introduced to a songs recording shop 5. Stole Rs. 10 once and went to a local comics shop to read Nagraj comics. My bad luck, mom used to go for a walk from that side. Caught on the first day itself Rest is history, beaten up by my father like anything 6. Started smoking for the first time. Again, caught by a neighbour on the very first day.. again But those were the best times... More will follow...

DishuBOSS
Me and my best friend developed this weird habit of going to the Shamshaan (cremation ground).. we used to go there around 7 o clock and come back after sitting there for an hour or so and just talk.. realized how stupid and futile it was and stopped going there after some time. Didnt tell our parents though

I think we were the luckiest gen alive (80s-early 90s), having witnessed the turn of a century with such amazing inventions ! nah, i think mine was better, 90s and mid-late 00s. Online connectivity improved dramatically, cell phones got a wide spread appeal, youtube got invented (biggest event ever) and we got to see all the pop culture. True your 80s was ball tripping amazing in terms of movies and badassery but we here in india got to see most of them a decade later (unlike the instantaneous exposure of everything everywhere, now). The only thing crap about the 90's was its entertainment- 80s was unabashedly camp and cool while 2000 onwards we had the tech to make cool looking movies, 90s just floated in between direction less. I really dont think tech could evolve any further without over hauling the whole input-interaction mechanism.
