Bird Bird Bird
nah, i think mine was better, 90s and mid-late 00s. Online connectivity improved dramatically, cell phones got a wide spread appeal, youtube got invented (biggest event ever) and we got to see all the pop culture. True your 80s was ball tripping amazing in terms of movies and badassery but we here in india got to see most of them a decade later (unlike the instantaneous exposure of everything everywhere, now). The only thing crap about the 90's was its entertainment- 80s was unabashedly camp and cool while 2000 onwards we had the tech to make cool looking movies, 90s just floated in between direction less. I really dont think tech could evolve any further without over hauling the whole input-interaction mechanism. Disagree. IMO the tech-less world was better than this all-the-time instantly connected one. Things were more personal, you knew the guys living in your area, you knew the shopkeepers, they knew you, less cunning people, no malls, more physical activity, more inter-personal relationships, POWER ZONE BITCHES ! I would gladly take the 80s/90s over the times now.

Shantz
^ Rep quota is over.. but still.. +1 !!! Used to hide the comic books from my parents.. they always said, "Haan ye comics aur cartoon hi kama kar khilayenge na tujhe??" Mom ki jeebh par Saraswati baithi hui thi tab.. man, I should make my mother meet you. Spent half my childhood hearing "in comics/cartoons me kuchh nahi rakha". I would gladly take the 80s/90s over the times now. and parks, playgrounds and stuff. I remember we had at least 10 big a*s playgrounds within 1-5 minutes from my house when I was growing up and several small ones and many parks. I feel sad many times when I see the kids playing around in the small tiny tot type areas/grounds or driveways My kid will never get that kind of facilities and the fun we had as kids. True that mate. We had this huge a*s Stadium (still remember the name - Sidhu kanu Stadium), a wooden one at that, literally a min where I lived in West Bengal (Durgapur). Learnt Skating and Badminton there. Plus hardly 10 mins away, had a big park cum playground. Great rides, swings etc. Plus them chatwallahs just outside used to dish out 4 batashas for 1 rupee ! Spicy ones. I remember used to eat batashas worth 10 rupees alone. Agreed, but werent we discussing as to which gen had it better in terms of tech overhaul ? Errrrr. Sackboy
Nobody used to play AOE II? Oh the hours I spent on that game. Deciding that I will play it fair and then getting pissed on by AI and cheating to victory. I remember once someone told me one cheat code (Before I knew how to use Google) lumberjack for wood and I didn't know any other, so I used get tons of wood and trade it all for other resources. Then someone told me megagames.com pe cheats mil jaayenge. I was in third or fourth then and I misspelled mega as maga. Well it was my first encounter with boobies.
