KnackChap Posted May 6, 2008 Report Share Posted May 6, 2008 Speaking at the PlayStation Day media event held at London's O2 Arena this afternoon, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe boss David Reeves has proclaimed that the PS3 has already outsold the Xbox 360 across the continent. "We have sold more PlayStation 3s throughout Europe than the Xbox 360, even though they launched 14 months before us," the big cheese told the assembled press. The latest figures mooted by SCEE put European take-up of the PS3 at 5 million units. This is apparently a similar take-up to the PS2, despite the higher price this time around. SCE big-big boss Kaz Hirai also graces London with his presence, and we learn that over three million users are now connected to the PlayStation Network in Europe, that figure rising to eight million globally. http://play.tm/story/17932 ________________________________________________________________________________ 2 down, 1 to go. But I don't think it will sell Xbox 360s.. Sony has really recovered after the disastrous launch. I've had an xbox 360 since Dec 2006 but if I were to enter the console scene today, I would go for a PS3. The future looks brighter for it especially with Sony claiming a 10 year life cycle for it and it's very believable given they're still supporting the PS2.
