Urgent Help - Xbox360 Drive not working

Hi Guys,

Long story short..

My Xbox360 has stopped reading new DVD's and some of the old but still some good quality DVD it's able to read. At -End - Xbox360 Drive gone case.

Tried cleaning with the lens cleaner but didn't worked.. so planning to buy a new XBOX360 4GB Slim model now.

Can I use my existing Xbox360S 250GB HDD only in 4GB new Slim model without a need to transfer license etc?

Will it be like - all the games/license working in old X360S will be working after bit update in the new 4GB one?

****After removing the 250GB HDD from the old X360S can I sell it as 4GB model? (Will obviously mention defective DVD Drive)****

Please suggest..

Cheers,

TD

The lens has become weak.

Just call microsoft if its under warranty, they will replace your console.

Else you can either

1> get the lens replaced

2> get the drive replaced

3> get a new console

Yes you can use the existing HDD with the new console, but you will need to do the transfer license for some stuff to work, most of it will work without the license transfer with your profile only but do it anyway.

Installed games wont work, you will have to reinstall them.

Yes you can sell it but know that the replacement drive comes for around 4k if not more, and repair charges cost extra so you will have to sell it at a very low price.

Good luck

Thanks mate for the informations.. the Xbox is out of warranty n the DVD drive gone in just 1.5 years..

Microsoft is asking 150$ to replace the HDD whereas tomorrow I can get a 4GB new console with Kinect for 220$... So thought of buying new Xbox with valid warranty..

What say?

I am planning to sell the XBOX without the HDD..

Can someone confirm in this last case the Xbox will be 4GB Xbox console..???
